Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6348

Muhammad bin Umar (al-Waqidi) states that the lineage of Ma'qil bin Sinan al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) goes back to Fityan bin Subay' bin Bakr bin Ashja'. He took part in the Conquest of Makkah in the company of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

Note / Clarification: The vocalisation of this name follows Abd al-Ghani bin Sa'id and al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar, whereas Ibn Makula in "al-Ikmal" (7/ 261) vocalised it with a fathah on the za' and a kasrah on the doubled ha'.
