Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6346

سمعتُ أبا العبّاس محمد بن يعقوب يقول: سمعتُ العبّاس بن محمد الدُّورِيَّ يقول: سمعت يحيى بنَ مَعِين يقول: مَعقِلُ بن سِنان الأشجعيُّ أبو عبد الرحمن، ويقال: أبو يزيد (2).
Yahya bin Ma'in states that the kunyah of Ma'qil bin Sinan al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) was Abu Abd al-Rahman, and according to another view, Abu Yazid.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): Manuscript (Z) has 'Abu Zayd', but the correct reading is the one in (M) and (S), since it agrees with the biographical sources.
