أخبرنا أبو بكر محمد بن عبد الله الشافعي، حدثنا حامد بن سَهْل الثَّغْرِي، حدثنا مُسلِم بن إبراهيم، عن شُعبة، عن عُيَينة بن عبد الرحمن، عن أبيه: أنه كان في جِنازة عُثمانَ بن أبي العاص، قال: فكُنّا نمشي مَشْيًا خفيفًا، قال: فرفع أبو بَكْرةَ سَوْطَه، وقال: لقد رأيتُنا مع رسول الله ﷺ نَرمُل رَمَلًا (1). ذكرُ مناقب سفيان بن عَوف الغامِدي

Uyaynah bin Abd al-Rahman narrates from his father that he was present at the funeral of Sayyiduna Uthman bin Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with him). He says: We were walking slowly (with the bier), whereupon Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) raised his whip and said: "I have seen us with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) walking very quickly (with the bier)."

(1) إسناده صحيح، لكن خالف فيه شعبةُ سائرَ أصحاب عُيَينة بن عبد الرحمن ممّن تقدَّم ذكرهم برقم (5990)، حيث ذكروا أنَّ الجنازة كانت لعبد الرحمن بن سَمْرة، وليس لعثمان بن أبي العاص.
Grading: Its chain is sahih, but in it Shu'bah contradicted the rest of the students of 'Uyaynah bin 'Abd al-Rahman who were mentioned at number (5990), for they stated that the funeral was that of 'Abd al-Rahman bin Samurah, not of 'Uthman bin Abi al-'As.
وأخرجه أبو داود (3182) عن مسلم بن إبراهيم، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (3182) recorded it from Muslim bin Ibrahim, with this chain.
