It is narrated from Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Sa'id bin Zayd bin Amr bin Nufayl (may Allah be pleased with him) returned from Syria after the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had returned from the Battle of Badr. He spoke to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (about his participation), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) allotted him a share (of the spoils). He said: O Messenger of Allah! Will I have my reward as well? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And your reward as well."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is weak because it is mursal; however, it is among the things on which the scholars of the military campaigns and biography (al-maghazi wa al-siyar) are agreed. Reference / Source: Al-Tabarani recorded it in "al-Kabir" (338), Abu Nu'aym in "Ma'rifat al-Sahabah" (531) and al-Bayhaqi in "al-Sunan al-Kubra" (6/ 292), by way of Muhammad bin 'Amr bin Khalid al-Harrani, with it. Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi (9/ 57) recorded it by way of Ya'qub bin Sufyan, from 'Amr bin Khalid al-Harrani, with it. Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi also recorded it (9/ 57) by way of Hassan bin 'Abdullah al-Kindi, and Ibn 'Asakir in "Tarikh Dimashq" (21/ 63) by way of al-Walid bin Muslim, both from Ibn Lahi'ah, with it. 21/ 63 - 68. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Similar to it is the statement of Ibn Ishaq (as will come after it); the statement of al-Zuhri (in Abu al-Qasim al-Baghawi's "Mu'jam al-Sahabah" 962 and Ibn 'Asakir 21/ 63-64); and the statement of Musa bin 'Uqbah (in al-Bayhaqi 6/ 292). See "Tarikh Dimashq" of Ibn 'Asakir (21/ 63-68).
