حدثني أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالَوَيهِ، حدثنا إبراهيم بن إسحاق الحَرْبي، حدثنا مصعب بن عبد الله الزُّبيري، قال: ومن حُلَفاء بني نَوفَل بن عبد مَناف: يعلى بن مُنْيةَ، ومُنْيةُ أمُّه، وهي مُنْيةُ بنتُ غَزْوان بن جابر من بني مازن وأبوه أُميّة بن أبي عُبيد بن هَمّام بن الحارث بن بَكْر (2).
It is narrated from Mus'ab bin Abdullah al-Zubayri that among the allies of Banu Nawfal bin Abd Manaf is Sayyiduna Ya'la bin Munyah (may Allah be pleased with him). Munyah is the name of his mother, who was the daughter of Ghazwan bin Jabir of Banu Mazin, while his father's name is Umayyah bin Abi Ubayd bin Hammam bin al-Harith bin Bakr.

(2) كذا قال مصعب بن عبد الله الزبيري وخالفه ابن أخيه الزبير بن بكار فيما رواه عنه الدارقطني في "المؤتلف والمختلف" 4/ 2119 فجعل مُنية بنت الحارث بن جابر - وليس مُنية بنت غزوان بن جابر - جدة يَعْلى بن أُمية أمَّ أبيه!
Important point: This is what Mus'ab bin Abd Allah al-Zubayri said, but his nephew al-Zubayr bin Bakkar differed from him (as al-Daraqutni narrated from him in "al-Mu'talif wa al-Mukhtalif" 4/2119), and made "Munyah bint al-Harith bin Jabir" (not Munyah bint Ghazwan bin Jabir) the grandmother of Ya'la bin Umayyah, his father's mother!
لكن قال الدارقطني متعقّبًا قولَه هذا: أصحاب الحديث يقولون في يعلى بن أُميَّة: إنه يعلى بن مُنْية، وأنها أمُّه. قال: ويقول أصحاب الحديث وأصحاب التاريخ: إنَّ مُنْية بنت غزوان أخت عتبة بن غزوان صاحب رسول الله ﷺ.
Important point: But al-Daraqutni, commenting critically on this statement of his, said: The hadith scholars say of Ya'la bin Umayyah that he is "Ya'la bin Munyah", and that she is his mother. He said: And the hadith scholars and the historians say that Munyah bint Ghazwan is the sister of Utbah bin Ghazwan, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
قال الدارقطني: وقال الطبري: يعلى بن أمية بن أبيّ بن عُبيدة، وأمه مُنية بنت جابر عمة عتبة ابن غزوان. قلنا: وكذلك سمى ابن سعد 6/ 47 أمَّ يعلى، وقال أيضًا: وهي عمةُ عُتبة بن غزوان بن جابر.
Important point: Al-Daraqutni said: And al-Tabari said: Ya'la bin Umayyah bin Abi bin Ubaydah, and his mother is Munyah bint Jabir, the paternal aunt of Utbah bin Ghazwan. We say: Ibn Sa'd (6/47) likewise named Ya'la's mother this way, and also said: She is the paternal aunt of Utbah bin Ghazwan bin Jabir.
