It is narrated from Yahya bin Sa'id that the clientage (wala') of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) was to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he died in the year 43 AH. The two Shaykhs (Imam Bukhari and Muslim) agreed on the hadith of Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not say about anyone walking on the face of the earth, "He is among the people of Paradise", except Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Yahya bin Sa'id is al-Qattan, Amr bin Ali is al-Fallas, and Muhammad bin Hurayth is Ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Bukhari.
3/ 1655. Reference / Source: Al-Bukhari (3812) and Muslim (2483) narrated it. Important point: Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas said this (that he never heard a testimony of Paradise for any living person other than Abdullah bin Salam) despite knowing that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had also given him (Sa'd) the glad tidings of Paradise and included him among the ten given glad tidings. This does not negate what he had heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); rather he disliked praising himself (tazkiyat al-nafs), adopted humility, and did not consider himself as deserving as he considered his brother (Abdullah bin Salam). Al-Khattabi said this in "A'lam al-Hadith" (3/ 1655).
