حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي دارِم الحافظ بالكوفة، حدثنا أبو جعفر الحَضْرمي، حدثنا حمزة بن عَوْن المَسعُودي، حدثنا محمد بن القاسم الأسَدي، حدثنا سفيانُ الثَّوْري وشَريكٌ، عن عاصم بن أبي النَّجُود، عن زرِّ بن حُبيش، قال: كنت جالسًا عند عليٍّ، فأُتي برأس الزُّبير ومعه قاتلُه، فقال عليٌّ: بشِّرْ قاتلَ ابن صفيّةَ بالنار، سمعتُ رسولَ الله ﷺ يقول: "لكلُّ نبيٍّ حَوارِيّ، وإنَّ حَوَارِيَّ الزُّبَير" (1). هذه الأحاديثُ صحيحةٌ عن أمير المؤمنين عليٍّ، وإن لم يُخرجاها بهذه الأسانيدِ.

It is narrated from Zirr bin Hubaysh that he said: I was sitting with Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) when the head of Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) was brought, and his killer was with it. So Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Give the killer of the son of Safiyyah the glad tidings of the Fire of Hell. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: 'Every prophet has a disciple, and indeed my disciple is al-Zubayr.'"
These hadiths are authentically established from the Commander of the Believers, Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), even though the two Shaykhs did not record them with these chains.

(1) إسناده ضعيف جدًّا من أجل محمد بن القاسم الأسدي، فهو متروك واتهمه أحمد، لكنه قد تُوبع عليه عن سفيان الثوري وحده - دون قصة الرأس - عند أحمد في "فضائل الصحابة" (1273)، وهذا الحديث لم يُروَ وعن شريك إلّا من طريق الأسدي.
Grading: (1) Its chain is very weak (da'if jiddan) because of Muhammad bin al-Qasim al-Asadi; he is "matruk" (abandoned) and Ahmad accused him.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: But he is corroborated from Sufyan al-Thawri (without the story of the head) in Ahmad's "Fada'il al-Sahabah" (1273).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): And this hadith has not been narrated from Sharik except via al-Asadi.
وأخرجه الطبراني في "الكبير" (243) عن أبي جعفر محمد بن عبد الله الحضرمي، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Tabarani narrated it in "al-Kabir" (243) from Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin 'Abdullah al-Hadrami, with this chain.
