نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ كُلِّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ ، وَعَنْ قَتْلِ الْوِلْدَانِ

قال عليٌّ (2): وقد كان سفيانُ حدثَنا عن أبي الزُّبَير، عن جابر، عن النبي ﷺ: أنه وَضَعَ الجوائحَ (3).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered compensation (remission of the price) for financial loss resulting from natural disasters.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(2) يعني علي بن عبد الله بن المديني، بالإسناد الذي قبله.
Important point: This refers to Ali bin Abd Allah bin al-Madini, (narrating) with the previous chain.
(3) إسناده صحيح.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
وأخرجه الشافعي في "الأم" 4/ 116 - 117، والحميدي (1279)، وأبو عوانة (5096)، والطحاوي في "شرح معاني الآثار" 4/ 34 والبيهقي 5/ 306 من طريق سفيان بن عيينة، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam al-Shafi'i narrated it in "al-Umm" 4/ 116-117, al-Humaydi (1279), Abu Awanah (5096), al-Tahawi in "Sharh Ma'ani al-Athar" 4/ 34 and al-Bayhaqi 5/ 306, by way of Sufyan bin Uyaynah with this same chain.
