Musnad Ishaq bin Rahwayh 79 — The greatness and virtue of the Prophet
اَخْبَرَنَا جَرِیْرٌ، عَنِ الْاَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ عُبَیْدِ بْنِ عُمَیْرٍ، عَنْ اَبِیْ ذَرٍّ نَحْوَ۔ قَالَ: وَکَانَ مُجَاهِدٌ یَقُوْلُ: اَلْاَحْمُرُ وَالْاَسْوَدُ: اَلْجِنَّ وَالْاِنْس.
Ubaidi bin Umair narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) a similar narration. The narrator stated, Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) used to say: By "red and black" is meant the jinn and mankind.
