أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، قَالَ: دُعِيَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ لِسَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، وَهُوَ يَمُوتُ وَابْنُ عُمَرَ يَسْتَحِمُّ لِلْجُمُعَةِ فَأَتَاهُ وَتَرَكَ الْجُمُعَةَ.
Ismail bin Abdur Rahman bin Abi Dhi'b says: Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) was called for the funeral (prayer) upon the death of Sa'id bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him). At that time, Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) was performing ghusl (ritual bath) for Jumu'ah (Friday prayer). He went for the funeral and left the Jumu'ah.
