Musnad Imam Shafi'i 1598 — By Allah, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ، قَالَ: لَا وَاللَّهِ مَا سَمَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَيْنًا وَلَا زَادَ أَهْلَ اللِّقَاحِ عَلَى قَطْعِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَرْجُلِهِمْ.
Ali bin Husain (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated: By Allah, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not gouge out eyes, and did nothing except cut off the hands and feet of those who herded the milking camels.
