Musnad Imam Shafi'i 128 — The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led us
أَخْبَرَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، وَعَبْدُ الْمَجِيدِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْعَائِذِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، قَالَ: صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصُّبْحَ بِمَكَّةَ، فَاسْتَفْتَحَ سُورَةَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءَ ذِكْرُ مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ، أَوْ ذِكْرُ عِيسَى، أَخَذَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَعْلَةٌ، فَحَذَفَ فَرَكَعَ. قَالَ: وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ السَّائِبِ حَاضِرٌ ذَلِكَ.
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Sa’ib (may Allah be pleased with him), he states: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led us in the morning prayer in Makkah. He began reciting Surah Al-Mu’minun, and when he reached the mention of Musa and Harun (peace be upon them), or the mention of Isa (peace be upon him), the Prophet (ﷺ) started coughing, so he left the recitation and went into bowing (ruku’). The narrator says that Abdullah bin Sa’ib (may Allah be pleased with him) was present in that prayer.
