37 الشَّبَابُ شُعْبَةٌ مِنَ الْجُنُونِ، وَالنِّسَاءُ حَبَائِلُ الشَّيْطَانِ، وَالْخَمْرُ جِمَاعُ الْإِثْمِ، وَالْغُلُولُ مِنْ جَمْرِ جَهَنَّمَ، وَالنِّيَاحَةُ مِنْ عَمَلِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، وَالسَّعِيدُ مَنْ وُعِظَ بِغَيْرِهِ، وَالشَّقِيُّ مَنْ شَقِيِّ فِي بَطْنِ أُمِّهِ

Youth is a branch of madness, women are snares of Satan, wine is the root of all sin, embezzlement is from the coals of Hell, wailing is from the practices of ignorance, the happy one is he who learns from others, and the wretched is he who is wretched in his mother's womb

38 الْخَمْرُ أُمُّ الْخَبَائِثِ

Wine is the mother of all evils

Fever is the forerunner of death

51 آفَةُ الْحَدِيثِ الْكَذِبُ، وَآفَةُ الْعِلْمِ النِّسْيَانُ، وَآفَةُ الْحِلْمِ السَّفَهُ، وَآفَةُ الْعِبَادَةِ الْفَتْرَةُ، وَآفَةُ الظُّرْفِ الصَّلَفُ، وَآفَةُ الشَّجَاعَةِ الْبَغْيُ، وَآفَةُ السَّمَاحَةِ الْمَنُّ، وَآفَةُ الْجَمَالِ الْخُيَلَاءُ، وَآفَةُ الْحَسَبِ الْفَخْرُ

The flaw of speech is lying, the flaw of knowledge is forgetfulness, the flaw of forbearance is foolishness, the flaw of worship is laziness, the flaw of refinement is arrogance, the flaw of courage is oppression, the flaw of generosity is reminding, the flaw of beauty is vanity, the flaw of status is pride

52 السَّعِيدُ مَنْ وُعِظَ بِغَيْرِهِ، وَالشَّقِيُّ مَنْ شَقِيِّ فِي بَطْنِ أُمِّهِ

The happy one is he who learns from others, and the wretched is he who is wretched in his mother's womb

The expiation for sin is regret

Hajj is the jihad of every weak person, and the jihad of a woman is good conduct with her husband

56 طَلَبُ الْحَلَالِ جِهَادٌ

Seeking the lawful is jihad

The server of the people is the last to drink

62 كُلُّ مَعْرُوفٍ صَدَقَةٌ

Every good deed is charity

63 مُدَارَاةُ النَّاسِ صَدَقَةٌ

Dealing kindly with people is charity

64 الْكَلِمَةُ الطَّيِّبَةُ صَدَقَةٌ

A good word is charity

65 مَا وَقَى الْمَرْءُ بِهِ عِرْضَهُ كُتِبَ لَهُ بِهِ صَدَقَةٌ

Whatever a person uses to protect his honor is written for him as charity

66 الصَّدَقَةُ عَلَى الْقَرَابَةِ صَدَقَةٌ وَصِلَةٌ

Charity to relatives is charity and maintaining ties

Charity prevents a bad death

Secret charity extinguishes the Lord's anger

Maintaining family ties increases lifespan

Acts of kindness protect from evil fates

71 الرَّجُلُ فِي ظِلِّ صَدَقَتِهِ حَتَّى يُقْضَى بَيْنَ النَّاسِ

A man is in the shade of his charity until judgment is passed among the people

72 الصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ كَمَا يُطْفِئُ الْمَاءُ النَّارَ

Charity extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire

73 الْمُعْتَدِي فِي الصَّدَقَةِ كَمَانِعِهَا

The one who exceeds limits in charity is like the one who withholds it

74 التَّائِبُ مِنَ الذَّنْبِ كَمَنْ لَا ذَنْبَ لَهُ

The one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin

75 الظُّلْمُ ظُلُمَاتٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

Oppression is darkness on the Day of Judgment

Excessive laughter kills the heart

77 فِي كُلِّ كَبِدٍ رَطْبَةٍ أَجْرٌ

The scholars are Allah’s trustees over His creation

The root of wisdom is the fear of Allah

80 الْجَنَّةُ دَارُ الْأَسْخِيَاءِ

Paradise is the abode of the generous

81 الْجَنَّةُ تَحْتَ ظِلَالِ السُّيُوفِ

Paradise is under the shade of swords

Paradise is under the feet of mothers

83 الدُّعَاءُ بَيْنَ الْأَذَانِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ لَا يُرَدُّ

Supplication between the adhan and iqamah is not rejected

84 كَسْبُ (طَلَبُ) الْحَلَالِ فَرِيضَةٌ بَعْدَ الْفَرِيضَةِ

Earning (seeking) the lawful is an obligation after the obligations

The most blessed women are those with the least burden

The believer is the mirror of the believer

89 الْمُؤْمِنُ كَيِّسٌ فُطِنٌ حَذِرٌ

The believer is intelligent, discerning, and cautious

90 الْمُؤْمِنُ إِلْفٌ مَأْلُوفٌ

The believer is friendly and befriended

91 الْمُؤْمِنُ مَنْ أَمِنَهُ النَّاسُ عَلَى أَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ

The believer is one whom people trust with their wealth and lives

92 الْمُؤْمِنُ غِرٌّ كَرِيمٌ، وَالْفَاجِرُ خِبٌّ لَئِيمٌ

The believer is naive and generous, and the wicked is cunning and vile

93 الْمُؤْمِنُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِ كَالْبُنْيَانِ يَشُدُّ بَعْضُهُ بَعْضًا

The believer to the believer is like a building, each part strengthening the other

94 الْمُؤْمِنُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْإِيمَانِ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الرَّأْسِ مِنَ الْجَسَدِ

The believer among the people of faith is like the head to the body

95 الْمُؤْمِنُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِي ظِلِّ صَدَقَتِهِ

On the Day of Judgment, the believer will be in the shade of his charity

96 الْمُؤْمِنُ يَأْكُلُ فِي مِعًى وَاحِدٍ وَالْكَافِرُ يَأْكُلُ فِي سَبْعَةِ أَمْعَاءٍ

The believer eats with one intestine, and the disbeliever eats with seven intestines

The believers are gentle and lenient

Wisdom is the lost property of the believer

The intention of the believer is better than his action

104 هَدِيَّةُ اللَّهِ إِلَى الْمُؤْمِنِ السَّائِلُ عَلَى بَابِهِ

Allah’s gift to the believer is the beggar at his door

The gift of the believer is death

106 شَرَفُ الْمُؤْمِنِ قِيَامُهُ بِاللَّيْلِ وَعِزُّهُ اسْتَغْنَاؤُهُ عَنِ النَّاسِ

The honor of the believer is his standing at night (in prayer), and his dignity is his independence from people

107 الْعِلْمُ خَلِيلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ، وَالْحِلْمُ وَزِيرُهُ، وَالْعَقْلُ دُلَيْلُهُ، وَالْعَمَلُ قَائِدُهُ، وَالرِّفْقُ وَالِدُهُ، وَالْبِرُّ أَخُوهُ، وَالصَّبْرُ أَمِيرُ جُنُودِهِ

Knowledge is the companion of the believer, forbearance is his minister, intellect is his guide, action is his leader, gentleness is his father, righteousness is his brother, and patience is the commander of his army

The wise is the one who disciplines himself and works for what is after death, and the incapable is the one who follows his desires and wishes upon Allah

Trustworthiness is wealth

Religion is sincere advice

Status is wealth, and nobility is piety

Goodness is a habit, and evil is obstinacy

Generosity brings profit and hardship brings misfortune

Caution is suspicion

Children are a cause of miserliness and cowardice

Obscenity is from harshness

The Quran is the cure

Supplication is worship

Debt is a blemish on religion

Planning is half of livelihood, affection is half of intellect, worry is half of old age, and having few dependents is one of the two forms of ease

Good questioning is half of knowledge

Greeting precedes speech

Breastfeeding changes nature

Blessing is with your elders

The value of deeds is in their endings

The honor of a letter is in its conclusion

The essence of religion is piety

Fear of Allah is the root of all wisdom, and piety is the master of deeds

Delaying payment by the rich is injustice, begging from the rich is a disgrace, and begging from the rich is fire

Speaking of blessings is gratitude

Awaiting relief with patience is worship

Fasting is a shield

The guarantor is liable

Gentleness is the root of wisdom

The wise word is the lost property of every wise person

Righteousness is good character
