Hadith 1282

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, while pointing towards his ears, narrates: I testify and say that I heard with these two ears of mine the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Indeed, some people will be taken out of Hell and admitted into Paradise."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Muhammad Ibrahim bin Basheer
Benefit:
This hadith refutes certain misguided sects who claim that whoever commits a sin will enter Hellfire forever. From this hadith, the vastness of Allah’s mercy is established.

Hadith Commentary:
Some have said that "tharareer" is another type of vegetable which is white in color.
The meaning is that these people will first become blackened like coal by burning in Hellfire.
Then, when they are taken out of Hell due to intercession (shafa‘ah) and are bathed in the Water of Life (ma’ al-hayat), they will become white like tharareer.
This hadith refutes those who say that a believer will not enter Hell.
Likewise, it also refutes those who say that intercession (shafa‘ah) will be of no benefit, such as the saying of the Mu‘tazilah and the Khawarij.
Al-Bayhaqi narrated from Umar radi Allahu anhu that he delivered a sermon and said: In this ummah there will arise people who will deny stoning (rajm), will deny the Dajjal, will deny the punishment of the grave,
and will deny intercession (shafa‘ah).
In another hadith, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: My intercession will be for those among my ummah who are involved in major sins (kabirah).
O Allah, grant us the intercession of Muhammad and his family and all his companions. By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful, Ameen.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
Some people from among the believers, due to the consequences of their sins, will be burned and turned into charcoal. Then, when they are taken out through intercession and placed in the Water of Life, they will become white like small cucumbers, and life will be created in them anew.

(2)
This hadith refutes those who say that those who commit major sins (kabirah) will not enter Hell, and it also refutes those who hold the view that intercession (shafa‘ah) will be of no benefit, as is the belief of the Mu‘tazilah and the Khawarij. On one occasion, ‘Umar radi Allahu anhu said that there will arise in this ummah people who will deny stoning (rajm), the Dajjal, the punishment of the grave, and intercession (shafa‘ah).
