Musnad of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 13977
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ : أَنّ " غُلَامًا يَهُودِيًّا كَانَ يَخْدُمُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَرِضَ ، فَأَتَاهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعُودُهُ ، فَقَعَدَ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : أَسْلِمْ ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَى أَبِيهِ وَهُوَ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ ، فَقَالَ : أَطِعْ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ، فَأَسْلَمَ ، فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَنْقَذَهُ بِي مِنَ النَّارِ " .
Narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Jewish boy used to serve the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Once he fell ill, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to visit him. His father was sitting by his head. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) advised him to recite the Kalimah. The boy looked at his father, who said, "Obey Abul Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him)." So the boy recited the Kalimah. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left from there, he was saying, "All praise is due to Allah who saved him from Hell because of me."
Hadith 13978
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، وَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا عَنْ أَنَسٍ : أَنّ " غُلَامًا مِنَ الْيَهُودِ كَانَ يَخْدُمُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَرِضَ ، فَأَتَاهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعُودُهُ وَهُوَ بِالْمَوْتِ ، فَدَعَاهُ إِلَى الإسلام ، فَنَظَرَ الْغُلَامُ إِلَى أَبِيهِ وَهُوَ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُوهُ : أَطِعْ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ، فَأَسْلَمَ ، ثُمَّ مَاتَ ، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَنْقَذَهُ بِي مِنَ النَّارِ " .

Hadith 13979
(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ طَهْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدِي سِرًّا ، لَا أُخْبِرُ بِهِ أَحَدًا أَبَدًا حَتَّى أَلْقَاهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have a secret of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) which I will not disclose to anyone until I meet him.
Hadith 13980
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ طَهْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا ، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever deliberately attributes a false statement to me, he should make his abode in Hell.
Hadith 13981
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ " جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْعُمْرَةِ وَالْحَجِّ ، فَقَالَ : لَبَّيْكَ بِحَجَّةٍ وَعُمْرَةٍ مَعًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the Talbiyah for Hajj and Umrah together as follows: "Labbaik bihajjat wa 'umrat ma'an."
Hadith 13982
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا رَبَاحٌ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَعْتَقَ صَفِيَّةَ ابْنَةَ حُيَيٍّ ، وَجَعَلَ عِتْقَهَا صَدَاقَهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) freed Hazrat Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), daughter of Huyayy, and made her freedom her dowry.
Hadith 13983
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ إِذَا أَذَّنَ ، قَامَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَبْتَدِرُونَ السَّوَارِيَ ، حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُمْ كَذَلِكَ ، يَعْنِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَ الْأَذَانِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ إِلَّا قَرِيبٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the muezzin finished giving the adhan, the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) would hasten towards the pillars, until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would come, and they would be offering only the two rak'ahs before Maghrib, and there was very little interval between the adhan and the iqamah.
Hadith 13984
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ مَوْلَى الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : خَرَجْنَا مَعَ عَلِيٍّ ، فَأَتَيْنَا ذَا الْحُلَيْفَةِ ، فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ : إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَجْمَعَ بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ ، فَمَنْ أَرَادَ ذَلِكَ فَلْيَقُلْ كَمَا أَقُولُ ، ثُمَّ لَبَّى ، قَالَ : لَبَّيْكَ بِحَجَّةٍ وَعُمْرَةٍ مَعًا " ، قَالَ : وَقَالَ سَالِمٌ : وَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ : قَالَ : وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ رِجْلِي لَتَمَسُّ رِجْلَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَإِنَّهُ " لَيُهِلُّ بِهِمَا جَمِيعًا " .
Sa’d says that once we set out with Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). When we reached Dhul-Hulaifah, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “I intend to combine Hajj and Umrah, so whoever has the same intention should say as I say.” Then, reciting the Talbiyah, he said, “Labbayk for Hajj and Umrah together.” Salim says that Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) informed me that my feet were touching the feet of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was also reciting the Talbiyah for both Hajj and Umrah.
Hadith 13985
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ السُّدِّيِّ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : " صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى ابْنِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ؟ قَالَ : لَا أَدْرِي ، رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، لَوْ عَاشَ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَبِيًّا " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : كَيْفَ أَنْصَرِفُ إِذَا صَلَّيْتُ ، عَنْ يَمِينِي ، أَوْ عَنْ يَسَارِي ؟ قَالَ : أَمَّا أَنَا ، فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sa'di says: I asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), "Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform the funeral prayer for his son Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him)?" He replied, "I do not know. May Allah's mercy be upon Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him). If he had lived, he would have been a Siddiq and a Prophet." I asked, "After performing the prayer, should I return from the right side or the left side?" He replied, "I have seen that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from the right side after performing the prayer."
Hadith 13986
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا ، وَقَالَ لَهُ قَائِلٌ : بَلَغَكَ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا حِلْفَ فِي الإسلام ؟ قَالَ : فَغَضِبَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : بَلَى ، بَلَى ، قَدْ " حَالَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ قُرَيْشٍ ، وَالْأَنْصَارِ فِي دَارِهِ " .
Someone said to Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), "Have you heard this hadith that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said there is no specific pact in Islam?" At this, he became angry and said, "Why not, why not! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) established brotherhood between the Muhajirin and the Ansar in our house."
Hadith 13987
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " حَالَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ ، وَالْأَنْصَارِ فِي دَارِ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) established brotherhood between the Muhajirun and the Ansar in our house.
Hadith 13988
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ فِيمَا يَحْسَبُ حَمَّادٌ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، خَرَجَ يَتَوَكَّأُ عَلَى أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، وَهُوَ مُتَوَشِّحٌ بِثَوْبِ قُطْنٍ ، قَدْ خَالَفَ بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ ، فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out leaning on Hazrat Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him). At that time, the blessed body of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was covered with a cotton garment, the two ends of which were thrown over his shoulders from opposite sides, and then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the people in prayer.
Hadith 13989
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ : " أَنّ رَجُلًا كَانَ يُتَّهَمُ بِامْرَأَةٍ ، فَبَعَثَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلِيًّا لِيَقْتُلَهُ " ، فَوَجَدَهُ فِي رَكِيَّةٍ يَتَبَرَّدُ فِيهَا ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : نَاوِلْنِي يَدَكَ ، فَنَاوَلَهُ يَدَهُ ، فَإِذَا هُوَ مَجْبُوبٌ لَيْسَ لَهُ ذَكَرٌ ، فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ ، فَقَالَ : وَاللَّهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّهُ لَمَجْبُوبٌ ، مَا لَه مِنْ ذَكَرٍ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man was accused of committing adultery with a woman. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and instructed him to go and kill him. When Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reached him, he found him cooling himself in a well. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him, "Give me your hand." He gave his hand, and Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) saw that he had no male organ. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) returned and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! He is impotent; he has no male organ."
Hadith 13990
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ : عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَرْحَمُ أُمَّتِي بِأُمَّتِي : أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَأَشَدُّهُمْ فِي دِينِ اللَّهِ : عُمَرُ ، وَقَالَ عَفَّانُ مَرَّةً : فِي أَمْرِ اللَّهِ : عُمَرُ ، وَأَصْدَقُهُمْ حَيَاءً : عُثْمَانُ ، وَأَفْرَضُهُمْ زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ ، وَأَقْرَؤُهُمْ لِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ : أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ ، وَأَعْلَمُهُمْ بِالْحَلَالِ وَالْحَرَامِ : مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ ، أَلَا وَإِنَّ لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَمِينًا ، وَإِنَّ أَمِينَ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ : أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The most merciful of my Ummah towards my Ummah is Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), the strictest in matters of religion is Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), the most modest and truthful in shyness is Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), the greatest scholar of what is lawful and unlawful is Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him), the greatest reciter of the Book of Allah is Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him), the greatest scholar of inheritance is Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him), and every Ummah has a trustworthy one; the trustworthy one of this Ummah is Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 13991
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَيَرِدَنَّ الْحَوْضَ عَلَيَّ رِجَالٌ ، حَتَّى إِذَا رَأَيْتُهُمْ رُفِعُوا إِلَيَّ فَاخْتُلِجُوا دُونِي ، فَلَأَقُولَنَّ : يَا رَبِّ ، أَصْحَابِي أَصْحَابِي ، فَيُقَالُ : إِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي مَا أَحْدَثُوا بَعْدَكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Some people will come to me at the Pond of Kawthar, and I will see them as they are presented before me, but they will be snatched away from me. I will say, "O Lord! My companions!" It will be said, "You do not know what innovations they introduced after you."
Hadith 13992
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الْعَزِيزِ بْنَ صُهَيْبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَنْ لَبِسَ الْحَرِيرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا ، فَلَنْ يَلْبَسَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever wears silk in this world will never be able to wear it in the Hereafter.
Hadith 13993
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَسَحَّرُوا ، فَإِنَّ فِي السُّحُورِ بَرَكَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Partake in suhoor (pre-dawn meal), for there is blessing in suhoor."
Hadith 13994
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا يَتَمَنَّى أَحَدُكُمْ الْمَوْتَ مِنْ ضُرٍّ نَزَلَ بِهِ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ لَا بُدَّ فَاعِلًا ، فَلْيَقُلْ : اللَّهُمَّ أَحْيِنِي مَا كَانَتْ الْحَيَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي ، وَتَوَفَّنِي إِذَا كَانَتْ الْوَفَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you should wish for death because of any hardship that befalls him. If wishing for death becomes necessary, then he should say: O Allah! Keep me alive as long as life is better for me, and grant me death when death is better for me.
Hadith 13995
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الْعَزِيزِ بْنَ صُهَيْبٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " يُضَحِّي بِكَبْشَيْنِ " ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ : وَأَنَا أُضَحِّي بِهِمَا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer two rams as sacrifice, and I also do the same.
Hadith 13996
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّتْ عَلَيْهِ جَنَازَةٌ ، فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا خَيْرًا ، فَقَالَ : " وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ " ، وَمَرَّتْ عَلَيْهِ جَنَازَةٌ ، فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا شَرًّا ، فَقَالَ : " وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ " ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَوْلُكَ الْأَوَّلُ : وَجَبَتْ ، وَقَوْلُكَ الْآخَرُ : وَجَبَتْ . قَالَ : " أَمَّا الْأَوَّلُ فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا خَيْرًا ، فَقُلْتُ : وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ ، وَأَمَّا الْآخَرُ فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا شَرًّا ، فَقُلْتُ : وَجَبَتْ لَهُ النَّارُ ، وَأَنْتُمْ شُهَدَاءُ اللَّهِ فِي أَرْضِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a funeral passed in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and someone praised the deceased, and the people praised him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said three times, "It has become obligatory." Then another funeral passed, and the people criticized the deceased. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again said three times, "It has become obligatory." Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "May my parents be sacrificed for you! The first funeral passed, and the people praised the deceased, and you said three times, 'It has become obligatory.' And when the second funeral passed and the people criticized the deceased, you again said three times, 'It has become obligatory.'?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Whomsoever you praise, Paradise becomes obligatory for him, and whomsoever you criticize, Hell becomes obligatory for him." Then he said three times, "You are Allah's witnesses on earth."
Hadith 13997
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، يَقُولُ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُجَوِّزُهَا وَيُكْمِلُهَا " ، يَعْنِي : يُخَفِّفُ الصَّلَاةَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most complete and concise in prayer among the people.
Hadith 13998
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " تَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَفِيَّةَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ ثَابِتٌ : مَا أَصْدَقَهَا ؟ قَالَ : أَصْدَقَهَا نَفْسَهَا ، أَعْتَقَهَا ، وَتَزَوَّجَهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married Hazrat Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her). Thabit asked, "What did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) give her as mahr (dowry)?" He replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) considered her freedom itself as her mahr and married her.
Hadith 13999
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا أَتَى الْخَلَاءَ ، قَالَ : أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الْخُبْثِ وَالْخَبِيثِ ، أَوْ : الْخَبَائِثِ " ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : وَقَدْ قَالَهُمَا جَمِيعًا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would enter the toilet, he would recite this supplication: "O Allah! I seek refuge with You from the male and female evil jinn."
Hadith 14000
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، يَقُولُ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَغْتَسِلُ بِخَمْسَةِ مَكَاكِيكَ ، وَكَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمَكُّوكِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ghusl with five makook of water and perform wudu with one makook of water.
Hadith 14001
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي السَّفَرِ ، فَقَالَ : خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَكُنَّا نُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ حَتَّى نَرْجِعَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ : كَمْ أَقَمْتُمْ بِمَكَّةَ ؟ قَالَ : عَشَرَةَ أَيَّامٍ ، قُلْتُ : فَبِمَ أَهَلَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ : لَبَّيْكَ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجَّةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we set out from Madinah Munawwarah with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) continued to perform two rak‘ahs (for prayers) until the return. The narrator says that I asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) how many days did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stay during this journey? He replied, ten days. I asked, for what did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) tie the Ihram? He replied, for both Hajj and Umrah.
Hadith 14002
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَبَّيْكَ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجَّةٍ مَعًا " ، أَوْ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting the Talbiyah for Hajj and Umrah together. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was saying: "Labbaik bihajjah wa 'umrah ma'an."
Hadith 14003
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، يَقُولُ : " دَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غُلَامًا مِنَّا ، فَحَجَمَهُ ، فَأَعْطَاهُ أَجْرَهُ صَاعًا أَوْ صَاعَيْنِ ، وَكَلَّمَ مَوَالِيَهُ أَنْ يُخَفِّفُوا عَنْهُ مِنْ ضَرِيبَتِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called one of the boys among us, and he performed cupping for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him a sa’ of wheat and spoke to his master, so he reduced (the boy’s burden) for him.
Hadith 14004
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " قَنَتَ شَهْرًا يَدْعُو عَلَى أَحْيَاءٍ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ : رِعْلٍ ، وَبَنِي لِحْيَانَ ، وَعُصَيَّةَ ، وَذَكْوَانَ ، فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Qunoot Nazilah after bowing in the Fajr prayer for a month and continued to invoke curses upon the tribes of Ri'l, Dhakwan, 'Usayyah, and Banu Lihyan.
Hadith 14005
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " قَنَتَ شَهْرًا بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Qunoot Nazilah after bowing in the Fajr prayer for a month and kept supplicating against (the tribes of Ra'l, Dhakwaan, 'Usayyah, and Banu Lihyan).
Hadith 14006
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَانَ " لَا يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنَ الدُّعَاءِ إِلَّا عِنْدَ الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ ، حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ إِبْطَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not raise his hands in any supplication, except at the time of Istisqa (prayer for rain), when he (peace and blessings be upon him) would raise his hands so high that the whiteness of his blessed armpits would become visible.
Hadith 14007
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً أَوْ نَامَ عَنْهَا ، فَإِنَّ كَفَّارَتَهَا أَنْ يُصَلِّيَهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever forgets to pray or sleeps through it, its expiation is only that he should pray it when he remembers.
Hadith 14008
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا ، يَقُولُ : " إِنْ كَانَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ لَيُؤَذِّنُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَنُرَى أَنَّهَا الْإِقَامَةُ ، مِنْ كَثْرَةِ مَنْ يَقُومُ فَيُصَلِّي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when the muezzin would finish giving the adhan, it would seem as if he had given the iqamah, because the number of people offering two rak'ahs before Maghrib would become so great (that the adhan would hardly be noticed).
Hadith 14009
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ حَمْزَةَ الضَّبِّيَّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، يَقُولُ : " مَا صَلَّيْتُ يَعْنِي وَرَاءَ رَجُلٍ أَوْ أَحَدٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ ، أَخَفَّ صَلَاةً مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي تَمَامٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have not offered prayer behind any imam lighter and more complete than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 14010
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ : أَنَّ أُمَّهُ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : " الْمَرْأَةُ تَرَى فِي مَنَامِهَا مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ ، فَقَالَ : إِذَا رَأَتْ ذَلِكَ فِي مَنَامِهَا ، فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ " ، فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَاسْتَحْيَتْ : أَوَيَكُونُ هَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، فَمِنْ أَيْنَ يَكُونُ الشَّبَهُ ، مَاءُ الرَّجُلِ أَبْيَضُ غَلِيظٌ ؟ ! وَمَاءُ الْمَرْأَةِ أَصْفَرُ رَقِيقٌ ، فَمِنْ أَيِّهِمَا سَبَقَ أَوْ : عَلَا يَكُونُ الشَّبَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that if a woman sees a "dream" just as a man sees, what is the ruling? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a woman sees such a "dream" and experiences ejaculation, then she should perform ghusl (ritual bath). Umm al-Mu'mineen Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Can this also happen?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes! The fluid of a man is thick and white, and the fluid of a woman is thin. Whichever of the two prevails, the child resembles that one.
Hadith 14011
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : انْطَلَقَ حَارِثَةُ ابْنُ عَمَّتِي يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غُلَامًا نَظَّارًا ، مَا انْطَلَقَ لِلْقِتَالِ ، قَالَ : فَأَصَابَهُ سَهْمٌ ، فَقَتَلَهُ ، قَالَ : فَجَاءَتْ أُمُّهُ عَمَّتِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ابْنِي حَارِثَةُ ، إِنْ يَكُنْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَصْبِرْ وَأَحْتَسِبْ ، وَإِلَّا فَسَيَرَى اللَّهُ مَا أَصْنَعُ ، قَالَ : " يَا أُمَّ حَارِثَةَ ، إِنَّهَا جِنَانٌ كَثِيرَةٌ ، وَإِنَّ حَارِثَةَ فِي الْفِرْدَوْسِ الْأَعْلَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the Battle of Badr, Hazrat Haritha (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a young boy, went out for a walk. On the way, a sudden arrow struck him from somewhere and he was martyred. His mother presented herself in the court of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! You know how much I loved Haritha. If he is in Paradise, I will be patient, otherwise, you will see what I do." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Umm Haritha! Paradise is not just one; there are many Paradises, and Haritha is in the highest and most excellent Paradise among them."
Hadith 14012
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِهِ ، فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَتَى السَّاعَةُ ؟ قَالَ : أَمَا إِنَّهَا قَائِمَةٌ ، فَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا ؟ قَالَ : وَاللَّهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَثِيرِ عَمَلٍ ، غَيْرَ أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ، قَالَ : " فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ ، وَلَكَ مَا احْتَسَبْتَ " ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ ، قَالَ : أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ ؟ فَأُتِيَ بِالرَّجُلِ ، فَنَظَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ ، فَإِذَا غُلَامٌ مِنْ دَوْسٍ مِنْ رَهْطِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، يُقَالُ لَهُ : سَعْدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : هَذَا الْغُلَامُ إِنْ طَالَ بِهِ عُمُرٌ ، لَمْ يَبْلُغْ بِهِ الْهَرَمُ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ " ، قَالَ الْحَسَنُ : وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسٌ : أَنَّ الْغُلَامَ كَانَ يَوْمَئِذٍ مِنْ أَقْرَانِي .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in his house, when a man asked this question: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! When will the Hour (Day of Judgment) be established?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "What preparation have you made for the Hour?" He replied, "I have not prepared many good deeds, but I do love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "You will be with those whom you love, and you will get what you have earned." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up and started praying. After finishing the prayer, he said, "Where is the person who asked about the Hour?" So that man was brought. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) looked around the room and saw a boy from the tribe of Daws, the tribe of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), whose name was Sa'd bin Malik. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "If this boy lives a long life, it is possible that he will not reach old age before the Hour is established." Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the boy was of my age.
Hadith 14013
(حديث قدسي) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْقَنَّادُ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَرْوِيهِ عَنْ رَبِّهِ ، قَالَ : يَقُولُ رَبُّكُمْ : " إِذَا تَلَقَّانِي عَبْدِي شِبْرًا ، تَلَقَّيْتُهُ ذِرَاعًا ، وَإِذَا تَلَقَّانِي ذِرَاعًا ، تَلَقَّيْتُهُ بَاعًا ، وَإِذَا تَلَقَّانِي يَمْشِي ، تَلَقَّيْتُهُ أُهَرْوِلُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says, "If My servant comes near to Me by a span, I come near to him by a cubit; and if he comes near to Me by a cubit, I come near to him by a fathom; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running."
Hadith 14014
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ يَعْنِي الْعَطَّارَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " بُعِثْتُ أَنَا وَالسَّاعَةُ كَهَاتَيْنِ " ، وَأَوْمَأَ عَفَّانُ بِالسَّبَّابَةِ وَالْوُسْطَى .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I and the Hour have been sent like these two fingers together." Saying this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed towards his index finger and middle finger.
Hadith 14015
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ حَارِثَةُ أُصِيبَ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ ، فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ حَارِثَةَ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، إِنْ كَانَ ابْنِي أَصَابَ الْجَنَّةَ ، وَإِلَّا أَجْهَدْتُ عَلَيْهِ الْبُكَاءِ ! قَالَ : " يَا أُمَّ حَارِثَةَ ، إِنَّهَا جِنَانٌ كَثِيرَةٌ فِي جَنَّةٍ ، وَإِنَّ حَارِثَةَ أَصَابَ الْفِرْدَوْسَ الْأَعْلَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the mother of Hazrat Harithah (may Allah be pleased with him) presented herself in the court of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! If he is in Paradise, then I will be patient, otherwise I will weep and lament excessively." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Umm Harithah! Paradise is not just one; there are many Paradises, and Harithah is in the highest of them, Jannat al-Firdous."
Hadith 14016
(حديث موقوف) (حديث مرفوع) وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَاللَّفْظِ : أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَانَ يَقُولُ : " لَا تَدَابَرُوا ، وَلَا تَبَاغَضُوا ، وَلَا تَحَاسَدُوا ، وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا " .
It is narrated with the previous chain that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Do not cut off relations, do not harbor hatred, do not turn your backs on each other, and do not envy one another. And O servants of Allah! Be brothers to one another.
