It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the things I saw, today I do not see any of them except that you say "La ilaha illallah." The narrator says: I asked, O Abu Hamza! Do we not pray? He replied: You perform the Asr prayer at the time of sunset; was this the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? However, I have certainly not seen a better time for any doer of deeds than your present time, except if it were the time of the Prophet.

When we arrived there, the sun had already risen and the people of Khaybar had brought out their livestock and had come out with their axes and mattocks. When they saw us, they said, "Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his army have come." It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Auf (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Madinah Munawwarah, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) established brotherhood between him and Hazrat Sa’d bin Rabi’ (may Allah be pleased with him). Hazrat Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “I will divide all my wealth into two parts, and I have two wives; I will divorce one of them, and when her waiting period is over, you may marry her.” Hazrat Abdur Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, “May Allah bless your wealth and your family for you. Just show me the way to the market.” So he showed Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Auf (may Allah be pleased with him) the way. He went, and when he returned, he had some cheese and ghee which he had saved as profit. After some time, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Auf (may Allah be pleased with him) and there were yellow marks on him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, “What are these marks?” He replied, “I have married an Ansari woman.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, “How much dowry did you give?” He replied, “Gold equal to the weight of a date stone.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Give a wedding feast, even if it is only with one goat.”

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once on a Friday, people said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The rain has stopped, the lands have become dry, and the wealth is being destroyed." Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands so high that the whiteness of his blessed armpits became visible, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for rain. At the time when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his blessed hands, we could not see any clouds in the sky, but when the prayer was finished, the young men living in nearby houses found it difficult to return to their homes. When the next Friday came, people said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The buildings of the houses have collapsed and the riders have been forced to stop outside Madinah." Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed to Allah: "O Allah! Let this rain fall around us, not upon us." Thus, the rain moved away from Madinah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that after the arrival of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Madinah Munawwarah, Hazrat Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the presence of the Messenger and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I will ask you three things which no one knows except a Prophet." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Ask." He said, "What is the very first sign of the Day of Judgment? What will be the very first food of the people of Paradise? And how does a child resemble its parents?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Just now Jibreel has informed me of their answers." Abdullah said, "He is the enemy of the Jews among the angels." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The very first sign of the Day of Judgment will be a fire that will emerge from the East and gather all the people in the West. The very first food of the people of Paradise will be the liver of fish. As for the resemblance of a child to its parents, if the man's 'fluid' prevails over the woman's fluid, he draws the child towards himself, and if the woman's fluid prevails over the man's, she draws the child towards herself." Upon hearing this, Abdullah said, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and you are the Messenger of Allah." Then he said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The Jews are a people who fabricate slanders. If they come to know of my acceptance of Islam, they will accuse me of all sorts of things before you. Therefore, send for them and ask them about me before they know of my Islam: 'What kind of man is Ibn Salam among you?'" So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for them and asked, "What kind of man is Abdullah bin Salam among you?" They replied, "He is the best among us and the son of the best, our scholar and the son of a scholar, the greatest jurist among us and the son of the greatest jurist." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Tell me, if he accepts Islam, will you also accept Islam?" They said, "May Allah protect him from that." At this, Hazrat Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) came out and recited the testimony of faith before them. Upon hearing this, they said, "He is the worst among us and the son of the worst, the most ignorant among us and the son of the most ignorant." Hazrat Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I had already informed you that the Jews are a people who fabricate slanders."

One day he cooked food for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and came to invite him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) indicated towards Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and said, "She will be with me." He refused. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also refused to go with him, and he left. It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, during the night, Hazrat Usaid bin Hudair (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abbad bin Bishr (may Allah be pleased with him) were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) discussing some matter. During this, a large part of the night passed and it was very dark. When they left the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and set out, one of them had a staff in his hand. The staff of one of them became illuminated, and they began to walk in its light. When both of them parted ways, the other's staff also became illuminated.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was very fond of bottle gourd (kaddu). Once, food was presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or someone invited him, so since I knew that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked bottle gourd, I would separate it and place it before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
