Musnad of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 11899
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْمُلَامَسَةِ ، وَالْمُلَامَسَةُ : يُمَسُّ الثَّوْبُ ، لَا يُنْظَرُ إِلَيْهِ , وَعَنِ الْمُنَابَذَةِ ، وَهُوَ طَرْحُ الثَّوْبِ الرَّجُلُ بِالْبَيْعِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُقَلِّبَهُ ، وَيَنْظُرَ إِلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of Mulamasa, which is when a person touches a cloth without properly examining it (and he has to buy it). He also forbade the sale of Munabadha, which is when a person looks at clothes or something similar and, before properly turning it over and examining it, throws it towards the buyer.
Hadith 11900
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ , قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : وَحَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْجُنْدَعِيِّ ، سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ , يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ ، حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ " ، وَقَالَ ابْنُ بَكْرٍ : حَتَّى تَرْتَفِعَ الشَّمْسُ ، وَلَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ ، حَتَّى تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no prayer after the Asr prayer until sunset, and after the Fajr prayer until sunrise.
Hadith 11901
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ , قَالَا : أَخبرنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخُوَارِ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِيَاضٍ ، وَعَطَاءِ بْنِ بُخْتٍ ، كلاهما يخبر عمر بن عطاء ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَاهُ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ يَقُولُ : " لَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ ، حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ ، وَلَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ ، حَتَّى اللَّيْلِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no prayer after the Asr prayer until sunset, and after the Fajr prayer until sunrise.
Hadith 11902
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، قَالَ : حدثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، وَحَدَّثَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ , أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيّ قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْمُلَامَسَةِ ، وَالْمُلَامَسَةُ : لَمْسُ الثَّوْبِ ، لَا يُنْظَرُ إِلَيْهِ ، وَعَنِ الْمُنَابَذَةِ , وَالْمُنَابَذَةُ طَرْحُ الرَّجُلِ ثَوْبَهُ إِلَى الرَّجُلِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُقَلِّبَهُ " .
(Marfu‘ hadith) Ya‘qub narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to us, from Salih, and Ibn Shihab also narrated, from ‘Amir ibn Sa‘d, who informed him, that Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade mulamasah, and mulamasah is touching the garment without looking at it, and he forbade munabadah, and munabadah is when a man throws his garment to another man before he examines it."
Hadith 11903
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ : حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْجُنْدَعِيُّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ ، يَعْنِي مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، وَابْنِ بَكْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، وَقَالَ : " حَتَّى تَرْتَفِعَ الشَّمْسُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of Mulamasa, which is when a person touches a cloth without properly examining it (and he has to buy it). (حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : حدثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ لِبْسَتَيْنِ ، وَعَنْ بَيْعَتَيْنِ " ، أَمَّا اللِّبْسَتَانِ : فَاشْتِمَالُ الصَّمَّاءِ ، أَنْ يَشْتَمِلَ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ ، يَضَعَ طَرَفَيْ الثَّوْبِ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ الْأَيْسَرِ ، وَيَتَّزِرَ بِشِقِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ ، وَالْأُخْرَى أَنْ يَحْتَبِيَ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ ، لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ غَيْرُهُ ، وَيُفْضِيَ بِفَرْجِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ ، وَأَمَّا الْبَيْعَتَانِ : فَالْمُنَابَذَةُ ، وَالْمُلَامَسَةُ ، وَالْمُنَابَذَةُ أَنْ يَقُولَ : إِذَا نَبَذْتَ هَذَا الثَّوْبَ ، فَقَدْ وَجَبَ الْبَيْعُ , وَالْمُلَامَسَةُ : أَنْ يَمَسَّهُ بِيَدِهِ ، وَلَا يَلْبَسَهُ ، وَلَا يُقَلِّبَهُ ، إِذَا مَسَّهُ وَجَبَ الْبَيْعُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade two types of clothing and two types of trade. The details of the clothing are as follows: one is to wrap oneself in a single cloth in such a way that one corner of the cloth is placed on the left shoulder and the other corner is used as a lower garment; and the second is to sit with the cloth gathered in such a way that one's private parts become exposed. The two types of trade refer to Munabadhah and Mulamasah. Munabadhah is when a person says, "When I throw this cloth, the sale will be concluded," and Mulamasah is when a person touches it with his hand but does not wear it or turn it over to inspect it, and as soon as he touches it, the sale is concluded.
Hadith 11905
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، وَقَالَ : قَالَ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، فَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، أَنَّ الْأَغَرّ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، وأبى هريرة , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " يُنَادِي مُنَادٍ ، إِنَّ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَحْيَوْا ، فَلَا تَمُوتُوا أَبَدًا ، وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَصِحُّوا ، فَلَا تَسْقَمُوا أَبَدًا ، وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَشِبُّوا ، وَلَا تَهْرَمُوا ، وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَنْعَمُوا وَلَا تَبْأَسُوا أَبَدًا ، فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَنُودُوا أَنْ تِلْكُمُ الْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ سورة الأعراف آية 43 " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, it will be announced among the people of Paradise that you will live and never die, you will always be healthy and never fall ill, you will always be young and never grow old, you will always remain in blessings and never see sorrow. This is the meaning of the statement of Allah Almighty: "It will be proclaimed to them that this is the Paradise which you have been made heirs of because of your deeds."
Hadith 11906
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ ، حَتَّى تقْتَتِلَ فِئَتَانِ عَظِيمَتَانِ ، دَعْوَاهُمَا وَاحِدَةٌ ، تَمْرُقُ بَيْنَهُمَا مَارِقَةٌ يَقْتُلُهَا أَوْلَاهُمَا بِالْحَقِّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The Day of Judgment will not be established until two great groups fight each other, both of whom will have the same claim, and from among them a group will emerge which will be killed by the faction that is closer to the truth among those two groups.
Hadith 11907
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَزَالُ الْعَبْدُ فِي صَلَاةٍ ، مَا كَانَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ , تَقُولُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ : اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ ، اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْهُ ، حَتَّى يَنْصَرِفَ أَوْ يُحْدِثَ " ، فَقُلْتُ : مَا يُحْدِثُ ؟ فَقَالَ : كَذَا ، قُلْتُ لِأَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، فَقَالَ : يَفْسُو أَوْ يَضْرِطُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The person who is waiting for prayer on his prayer mat is considered to be in prayer continuously, and the angels supplicate for him: O Allah! Forgive him, O Allah! Have mercy on him, until he returns or he experiences hadath. I asked about the meaning of hadath, so he said: The passing of wind silently or with sound.
Hadith 11908
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الصَّهْبَاءِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا أَصْبَحَ ابْنُ آدَمَ ، فَإِنَّ أَعْضَاءَهُ تُكَفِّرُ لِلِّسَانِ ، تَقُولُ : اتَّقِ اللَّهَ فِينَا ، فَإِنَّكَ إِنْ اسْتَقَمْتَ اسْتَقَمْنَا ، وَأَنْ اعْوَجَجْتَ اعْوَجَجْنَا " .
It is narrated (probably) as a marfu’ hadith from Hazrat Abu Sa’id (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the son of Adam wakes up in the morning, all the limbs of his body say to his tongue: “Fear Allah regarding us; if you are upright, we will also be upright, and if you become crooked, then (because of you) we will also become crooked.”
Hadith 11909
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَنْتَ تَخْلُقُهُ ، أَنْتَ تَرْزُقُهُ ؟ فَأَقْرِرْهُ مَقَرَّهُ ، فَإِنَّمَا كَانَ قُدِّرَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while discussing "azl" (withdrawal), said: Will you create this newborn? Will you provide sustenance for it? Allah has placed it in its abode, so this is a part of destiny, and this is destiny.
Hadith 11910
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صِيَامِ يَوْمَيْنِ : يَوْمِ الْفِطْرِ ، وَيَوْمِ الْأَضْحَى ، وَعَنْ لِبْسَتَيْنِ : الصَّمَّاءِ ، وَأَنْ يَحْتَبِيَ الرَّجُلُ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ ، وَعَنْ صَلَاةٍ فِي سَاعَتَيْنِ : بَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ ، وَبَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade two times of prayer, two days of fasting, and two types of clothing: He forbade praying after Asr prayer until sunset and after Fajr prayer until sunrise, fasting on the two Eid days, and lying in a single garment or sitting in such a way with knees drawn up that nothing covers a person's private parts.
Hadith 11911
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، وَحَسَنٌ , قَالَا : حدثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَدْعُو بِعَرَفَةَ " ، قَالَ حَسَنٌ : وَيَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ هَكَذَا ، يَجْعَلُ ظَاهِرَهُمَا فَوْقَ ، وَبَاطِنَهُمَا أَسْفَلَ ، وَوَصَفَ حَمَّادٌ ، وَرَفَعَ حَمَّادٌ يَدَيْهِ وَكَفَّيْهِ مِمَّا يَلِي الْأَرْضَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was standing in the plain of Arafat making supplication in such a way that he had raised his hands in front of his chest and the backs of his palms were facing towards the ground.
Hadith 11912
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَأْتِي أَحَدَكُمْ وَهُوَ فِي صَلَاتِهِ ، فَيَأْخُذُ شَعْرَةً مِنْ دُبُرِهِ ، فَيَمُدُّهَا فَيَرَى أَنَّهُ قَدْ أَحْدَثَ ، فَلَا يَنْصَرِفَنَّ حَتَّى يَسْمَعَ صَوْتًا ، أَوْ يَجِدَ رِيحًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you is praying, Satan comes to him and takes hold of a hair on his posterior and pulls it, so the person thinks that his ablution has been broken. If this happens to anyone, he should not break his prayer unless he hears a sound or perceives a smell.
Hadith 11913
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَأْتِي أَحَدَكُمْ وَهُوَ فِي صَلَاتِهِ ، فَيَأْخُذُ شَعْرَةً مِنْ دُبُرِهِ ، فَيَمُدُّهَا ، فَيَرَى أَنَّهُ قَدْ أَحْدَثَ ، فَلَا يَنْصَرِفْ حَتَّى يَسْمَعَ صَوْتًا ، أَوْ يَجِدَ رِيحًا " .
In our copy, only the word "حدثنا" is written here.
Hadith 11914
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَيَبْعَثَنَّ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ خَلِيفَةً ، يَحْثِي الْمَالَ حَثْيًا ، وَلَا يَعُدُّهُ عَدًّا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty will surely appoint a caliph in this Ummah who will give wealth and riches abundantly to the people without counting.
Hadith 11915
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُعَلَّى بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الْعَلَاءُ ، رَجُلٌ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ النَّاجِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا جُلُوسًا يَقْرَؤُونَ الْقُرْآنَ ، وَيَدْعُونَ , قَالَ : فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ سَكَتْنَا ، فَقَالَ : " أَلَيْسَ كُنْتُمْ تَصْنَعُونَ كَذَا وَكَذَا ؟ " , قُلْنَا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " فَاصْنَعُوا كَمَا كُنْتُمْ تَصْنَعُونَ " ، وَجَلَسَ مَعَنَا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَبْشِرُوا صَعَالِيكَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ بِالْفَوْزِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى الْأَغْنِيَاءِ بِخَمْسِ مِئَةٍ " ، أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ : سَنَةً .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were sitting and reciting the Holy Qur'an, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also arrived. When we saw him, we became silent. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Were you not doing such and such?" We replied, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Yes, we were." Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Continue doing as you were," and he himself sat with us. After a little while, he said, "O group of the poor! Rejoice, for you will enter Paradise five hundred years before the wealthy — which will be half a day of the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 11916
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا تَثَاءَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ ، فَلْيُمْسِكْ يَدَهُ عَلَى فِيهِ ، فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَدْخُلُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If any of you feels like yawning, he should keep his mouth closed as much as possible, for the devil enters his mouth along with the yawn.
Hadith 11917
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ " نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فِي الصَّوْمِ ، فَلَمْ يَزَلْ بِهِ أَصْحَابُهُ ، حَتَّى رَخَّصَ لَهُمْ مِنَ السَّحَرِ إِلَى السَّحَرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting continuously without taking sahur. The companions kept insisting, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted them to fast from one sahur to the next sahur.
Hadith 11918
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : افْتَخَرَ أَهْلُ الْإِبِلِ وَالْغَنَمِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْفَخْرُ وَالْخُيَلَاءُ فِي أَهْلِ الْإِبِلِ ، وَالسَّكِينَةُ وَالْوَقَارُ فِي أَهْلِ الْغَنَمِ " ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بُعِثَ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام وَهُوَ يَرْعَى غَنَمًا عَلَى أَهْلِهِ ، وَبُعِثْتُ أَنَا وَأَنَا أَرْعَى غَنَمًا لِأَهْلِي بِجِيَادٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some camel owners began to boast in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Calmness and dignity are found among the shepherds of goats, and pride and arrogance are found among the owners of camels." And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "When Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) was appointed as a prophet, he used to graze goats for his family, and when I was appointed as a prophet, I too used to graze goats for my family at the place of Ji'ad."
Hadith 11919
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ الْغِلَابِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْأَرْضُ كُلُّهَا مَسْجِدٌ ، إِلَّا الْحَمَّامَ وَالْمَقْبُرَةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The whole earth is a mosque and a means of purification, except for graveyards and bathhouses.
Hadith
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ جَاءَ جِنَازَةً فِي أَهْلِهَا فَتَبِعَهَا حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهَا ، فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ ، وَمَنْ مَضَى مَعَهَا ، فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever offers the funeral prayer and accompanies (the funeral) up to the grave will receive the reward of two qirats, and whoever only offers the funeral prayer but does not go up to the grave will receive the reward of one qirat, and one qirat is equal to (the mountain of) Uhud.
Hadith 11921
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَمْرُقُ مَارِقَةٌ عِنْدَ فِرْقَةٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ، تَقْتُلُهَا أَوْلَى الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ بِالْحَقِّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: My ummah will be divided into two factions, and a group will emerge between these two, which will be killed by the faction that is closer to the truth among the two.
Hadith 11922
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : " أَمَرَنَا نَبِيُّنَا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنْ نَقْرَأَ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَمَا تَيَسَّرَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to recite Surah Al-Fatihah and whatever other Surah is easy for us in prayer.
Hadith 11923
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَجَجْنَا ، فَنَزَلْنَا تَحْتَ ظِلِّ شَجَرَةٍ ، وَجَاءَ ابْنُ صَائِدٍ ، فَنَزَلَ إِلَى جَنْبِي ، قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ : مَا صَبَّ اللَّهُ هَذَا عَلَيَّ ! فَجَاءَنِي ، فَقَالَ : يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ ، أَمَا تَرَى مَا أَلْقَى مِنَ النَّاسِ ؟ يَقُولُونَ : أَنْتَ الدَّجَّالُ ، أَمَا سَمِعْتَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ الدَّجَّالَ لَا يُولَدُ لَهُ ، وَلَا يَدْخُلُ الْمَدِينَةَ وَلَا مَكَّةَ " ، وَقَدْ جِئْتُ الْآنَ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ ، وَأَنَا هُوَ ذَا أَذْهَبُ إِلَى مَكَّةَ ، وَقَدْ قَالَ حَمَّادٌ : وَقَدْ دَخَلَ مَكَّةَ ، وَقَدْ وُلِدَ لِي ، حَتَّى رَقَقْتُ لَهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ أَعْلَمَ النَّاسِ بِمَكَانِهِ السَّاعَةَ أَنَا , فَقُلْتُ : تَبًّا لَكَ سَائِرَ الْيَوْمِ .
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once we performed Hajj, and we stopped under a tree. Ibn Sayyad came and also camped at one corner of it. I recited "Inna lillah" and thought, what calamity has befallen me? Meanwhile, he started saying that people say various things about me and call me Dajjal. Did you not hear the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that Dajjal will not be able to enter Makkah and Madinah, and he will have no offspring? I said, why not, I did hear that. He said, then I have children here and I have come out of Madinah and intend to go to Makkah. My heart softened towards him, but in the end, he said, despite this, I know where he is now. Hearing this, I said to him, wretch! You are ruined.
Hadith 11924
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْأَعْشَى ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ بُشَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ عَالَ ثَلَاثَ بَنَاتٍ ، فَأَدَّبَهُنَّ ، وَرَحِمَهُنَّ ، وَأَحْسَنَ إِلَيْهِنَّ ، فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ " . قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : قَالَ أَبِي رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ : مَاتَ خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي الطَّحَّانَ ، وَمَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، وَأَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ ، وَحَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ فِي سَنَةِ تِسْعٍ وَتِسْعِينَ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ مَالِكًا مَاتَ قَبْلَ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ بِقَلِيلٍ ، قَالَ أَبِي : وَفِي تِلْكَ السَّنَةِ طَلَبْتُ الْحَدِيثَ ، كُنَّا عَلَى بَابِ هُشَيْمٍ ، وَهُوَ يُمْلِي عَلَيْنَا ، إِمَّا قَالَ الْجَنَائِزَ أَوْ الْمَنَاسِكَ ، فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ بَصْرِيٌّ ، فَقَالَ : مَاتَ حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever has three daughters, teaches them manners, shows kindness to them, and treats them well, will enter Paradise.
Hadith 11925
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْإِزَارِ ، فَقَالَ : عَلَى الْخَبِيرِ سَقَطْتَ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِزْرَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ ، وَلَا حَرَجَ ، أَوْ لَا جُنَاحَ ، فِيمَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ ، مَا كَانَ أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ فَهُوَ فِي النَّارِ ، وَمَنْ جَرَّ إِزَارَهُ بَطَرًا لَمْ يَنْظُرْ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ " .
Once a man asked Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) about the izar (lower garment), so he replied, "You have asked a well-informed person. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The izar of a Muslim should be up to the middle of the shin. There is no harm if it is between the shin and the ankles, but the part of the izar that is below the ankles will be in Hell, and Allah will not look with mercy upon the person who drags his izar on the ground out of pride."
Hadith 11926
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِابْنِ صَائِدٍ : " مَا تَرَى ؟ " قَالَ : أَرَى عَرْشًا عَلَى الْبَحْرِ حَوْلَهُ الْحَيَّاتُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ذَاكَ عَرْشُ إِبْلِيسَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked Ibn Sayyad, "What do you see?" He said, "I see a throne on the sea, around which there are snakes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He is seeing the throne of Iblis."
Hadith 11927
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ جَالِسًا مَعَ مَرْوَانَ ، فَمَرَّتْ جِنَازَةٌ ، فَمَرَّ بِهِ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ ، فَقَالَ : قُمْ أَيُّهَا الْأَمِيرُ ، فَقَدْ عَلِمَ هَذَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِذَا تَبِعَ جِنَازَةً ، لَمْ يَجْلِسْ حَتَّى تُوضَعَ " .
Once, Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) was sitting with Marwan when a funeral procession passed by. Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) was also with it. He said, "Governor! Stand up. You know that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would go with a funeral, he would not sit until the funeral was placed down."
Hadith 11928
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُتَوَكِّلِ النَّاجِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الذَّهَبُ بِالذَّهَبِ ، وَالْفِضَّةُ بِالْفِضَّةِ ، وَالْبُرُّ بِالْبُرِّ ، وَالشَّعِيرُ بِالشَّعِيرِ ، وَالتَّمْرُ بِالتَّمْرِ ، وَالْمِلْحُ بِالْمِلْحِ مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ ، يَدًا بِيَدٍ ، فَمَنْ زَادَ أَوْ اسْتَزَادَ فَقَدْ أَرْبَى ، الْآخِذُ وَالْمُعْطِي فِيهِ سَوَاءٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Gold for gold, silver for silver, wheat for wheat, barley for barley, dates for dates, and salt for salt should be exchanged equally. Whoever adds to it or demands an addition, he engages in usury, and in this both the taker and the giver are equal.
Hadith 11929
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَحِلُّ الصَّدَقَةُ لِغَنِيٍّ إِلَّا ثَلَاثَةٍ : فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، أَوْ ابْنِ السَّبِيلِ ، أَوْ رَجُلٍ كَانَ لَهُ جَارٌ ، فَتُصُدِّقَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَأَهْدَى لَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not permissible for a wealthy person to take charity (zakat), except in three cases: in jihad in the way of Allah, in a state of travel, and in the case where something from charity is sent to his neighbor and the neighbor gives it as a gift to the wealthy person.
Hadith 11930
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِدْرِيسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْأَوْدِيُّ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسَةِ أَوْسَاقٍ صَدَقَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no zakat on wheat less than five wasq.
Hadith 11931
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُمَارَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسَةِ أَوْسَاقٍ مِنْ تَمْرٍ ، وَلَا حَبٍّ صَدَقَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no zakat on wheat or dates less than five wasq.
Hadith 11932
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْفَرَّاءُ ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا نُخْرِجُ صَدَقَةَ الْفِطْرِ إِذْ كَانَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ زَبِيبٍ ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ ، فَلَمْ نَزَلْ كَذَلِكَ ، حَتَّى قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to give one sa’ of dates or barley, or cheese, or raisins as Sadaqat al-Fitr. Then, during the time of Hazrat Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), wheat became available, and his opinion was that its one mudd is equal to two (of the others).
Hadith 11933
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْفَرَّاءُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عِيَاضَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سعد بن أَبِي سَرْحٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : كُنَّا نُخْرِجُ ، فذكر الحديث .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 11934
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هَاشِمٍ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ رِيَاحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَوْ عَنْ غَيْرِهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَانَ إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ طَعَامِهِ قَالَ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا ، وَجَعَلَنَا مُسْلِمِينَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished eating, he would recite this supplication: "All praise is due to Allah who fed us, gave us drink, and made us Muslims."
Hadith 11935
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 11936
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَدَّاكِ جَبْرُ بْنُ نَوْفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : أَصَبْنَا حُمُرًا يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ ، فَكَانَتْ الْقُدُورُ تَغْلِي بِهَا ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا هَذِهِ ؟ " , فَقُلْنَا : حُمُرٌ أَصَبْنَاهَا ، فَقَالَ : " وَحْشِيَّةٌ أَوْ أَهْلِيَّةٌ ؟ " , قَالَ : قُلْنَا : لَا بَلْ أَهْلِيَّةٌ ، قَالَ : " أكْفُِئوهَا " , قَالَ : فَكَفَأْنَاهَا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): On the day of the Battle of Khaybar, we found some donkeys. The pots were still boiling when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked us, "What kind of meat is this?" We replied, "Donkey meat." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Domesticated or wild?" We replied, "Domesticated donkeys." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Turn over these pots." So we turned them over, even though we were hungry at that time and felt the need for food.
Hadith 11937
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ الْعَمِّيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ النَّاجِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أُتِيَ بِرَجُلٍ فِي حَدٍّ ، قَالَ : فَضَرَبَهُ بِنَعْلَيْنِ أَرْبَعِينَ " , قَالَ مِسْعَرٌ : أَظُنُّهُ فِي شَرَابٍ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man intoxicated with wine was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) struck him with forty shoes.
Hadith 11938
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فِي قَوْلِهِ : يَوْمَ يَأْتِي بَعْضُ آيَاتِ رَبِّكَ لا يَنْفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَانُهَا سورة الأنعام آية 158 ، قَالَ : " طُلُوعُ الشَّمْسِ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The meaning of 'the day when some of the signs of your Lord will come' is the rising of the sun from the west."
