Hadith 11780
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَسَرَّةُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ حَاجِبُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ عَطَاءَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيَّ قَائِمًا يُصَلِّي ، مُعْتَمًّا بِعِمَامَةٍ سَوْدَاءَ ، مُرْخٍ طَرَفَهَا مِنْ خَلْفِهِ ، مُصْفَرَّ اللِّحْيَةِ ، فَذَهَبْتُ أَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، فَرَدَّنِي ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَامَ ، فَصَلَّى صَلَاةَ الصُّبْحِ وَهُوَ خَلْفَهُ ، فَقَرَأَ ، فَالْتَبَسَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْقِرَاءَةُ ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَالَ : " لَوْ رَأَيْتُمُونِي وَإِبْلِيسَ ، فَأَهْوَيْتُ بِيَدِي ، فَمَا زِلْتُ أَخْنُقُهُ حَتَّى وَجَدْتُ بَرْدَ لُعَابِهِ بَيْنَ إِصْبَعَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ الْإِبْهَامِ وَالَّتِي تَلِيهَا ، وَلَوْلَا دَعْوَةُ أَخِي سُلَيْمَانَ لَأَصْبَحَ مَرْبُوطًا بِسَارِيَةٍ مِنْ سَوَارِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، يَتَلَاعَبُ بِهِ صِبْيَانُ الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَمَنْ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ لَا يَحُولَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ أَحَدٌ ، فَلْيَفْعَلْ " .
Abu Ubaid (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I saw Ata bin Yazid Laithi (may Allah have mercy on him) standing and offering prayer. He had tied a black turban and one end of it was hanging behind, and his beard was turning yellow. I was about to pass in front of him, but he stopped me. After the prayer, he said to me that Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this hadith to me: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood one day to lead the Fajr prayer, and he (Abu Saeed) was also standing behind the Prophet (peace be upon him). During the prayer, the Prophet (peace be upon him) became confused in his recitation. After finishing the prayer, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If you could have seen, I had extended my hand and caught Iblis, and I started choking him, until I felt the coolness of his saliva between these two fingers of mine—"the thumb and the finger next to it." If it had not been for the supplication of my brother Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him), he would have been tied to one of the pillars of this mosque, and the children of Madinah would have played with him. Therefore, whoever among you has the ability that nothing should come between him and the Qiblah, he should do so.
Hadith 11781
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ , حَدَّثَنِي مِنْدَلُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنِي الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ الطَّائِيِّ ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ صَاحِبُ خَمْسٍ : مُدْمِنُ خَمْرٍ ، وَلَا مُؤْمِنٌ بِسِحْرٍ ، وَلَا قَاطِعُ رَحِمٍ ، وَلَا كَاهِنٌ ، وَلَا مَنَّانٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of these five people will enter Paradise: a habitual wine-drinker, one who believes in magic, one who severs ties of kinship, a soothsayer, and one who reminds others of his favors.
Hadith 11781M
حَدَّثَنَا (٦) أَبُو الْجَوَابِ : حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ رُزَيْقٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ سَعْدِ الطَّائِيِّ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ : لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ صَاحِبُ خَمْسٍ : مُدْمِنُ سُكْرٍ، وَلَا مُؤْمِنٌ بِسِحْرٍ، وَلَا قَاطِعُ رَحِمٍ، وَلَا مَنَّانٌ، وَلَا كَاهِنَّ». [راجع: 11107].
Narrated to us (6) Abu al-Jawab: narrated to us Ammar ibn Ruzayq from al-A'mash, from Sa'd al-Ta'i, from Atiyyah, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri who said: The Messenger of Allah said: "The one who possesses five (traits) will not enter Paradise: one who is addicted to intoxicants, nor one who believes in magic, nor one who severs the ties of kinship, nor one who is boastful of favors, nor a soothsayer." Hadith 11782
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا شَكَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِ ، فَلَمْ يَدْرِ كَمْ صَلَّى ، ثَلَاثًا أَمْ أَرْبَعًا ، فَلْيَطْرَحْ الشَّكَّ ، وَلْيَبْنِ عَلَى مَا اسْتَيْقَنَ ، ثُمَّ يَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ صَلَّى خَمْسًا ، كَانَتْ شَفْعًا لِصَلَاتِهِ " ، قَالَ مُوسَى مَرَّةً : " فَإِنْ كَانَ صَلَّى خَمْسًا ، شَفَعْنَ لَهُ صَلَاتَهُ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ صَلَّى إِتْمَامَ أَرْبَعٍ ، كَانَتَا تَرْغِيمًا لِلشَّيْطَانِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you is praying and does not remember how many rak'ahs he has prayed, he should act on what he is certain of, and then while sitting, perform two prostrations of forgetfulness (sujood as-sahw). For if his prayer was odd, it will become even, and if it was even, it will be a humiliation for Satan.
Hadith 11783
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنِ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ وَرْدَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْوَسِيلَةُ دَرَجَةٌ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ لَيْسَ فَوْقَهَا دَرَجَةٌ ، فَسَلُوا اللَّهَ أَنْ يُؤْتِيَنِي الْوَسِيلَةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wasilah is the name of a rank with Allah above which there is no rank, so ask Allah to grant me Wasilah."
Hadith 11784
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُمَارَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كُلُّ الْأَرْضِ مَسْجِدٌ وَطَهُورٌ ، إِلَّا الْمَقْبَرَةَ وَالْحَمَّامَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The whole earth is a mosque and a means of purification, except for graveyards and bathhouses.
Hadith 11785
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْوَسْقُ سِتُّونَ صَاعًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A wasq is equal to sixty saa’.
Hadith 11786
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ دَرَّاجٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ ضُرِبَ الْجَبَلُ بِمَقْمَعٍ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ ، لَتَفَتَّتَ ، ثُمَّ عَادَ كَمَا كَانَ ، وَلَوْ أَنَّ دَلْوًا مِنْ غَسَّاقٍ يُهَرَاقُ فِي الدُّنْيَا ، لَأَنْتَنَ أَهْلُ الدُّنْيَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If an iron mace is struck upon the mountains, they will be shattered into pieces, and if a bucket of "Ghassaq" (the water of Hell) is poured upon the earth, its stench will spread throughout the whole world.
Hadith 11787
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : نَزَلْنَا مَنْزِلًا ، فَأَتَيْنَا امْرَأَةٌ ، فَقَالَتْ : إِنَّ سَيِّدَ الْحَيِّ سَلِيمٌ ، فَهَلْ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ رَاقٍ ؟ قَالَ : فَقَامَ مَعَهَا رَجُلٌ مَا كُنَّا نَظُنُّهُ يُحْسِنُ رُقْيَةً ، فَانْطَلَقَ مَعَهَا ، فَرَقَاهُ ، فَبَرَأَ ، فَأَعْطَوْهُ ثَلَاثِينَ شَاةً , قَالَ : وَأَحْسَبُهُ قَدْ قَالَ : وَأَسْقَوْنَا لَبَنًا , فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ إِلَيْنَا قُلْنَا لَهُ : أَكُنْتَ تُحْسِنُ رُقْيَةً ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، إِنَّمَا رَقَيْتُهُ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ , قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ لَهُمْ : لَا تُحْدِثُوا فِيهَا شَيْئًا حَتَّى نَأْتِيَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا كَانَ يُدْرِيهِ أَنَّهَا رُقْيَةٌ ، اقْسِمُوا وَاضْرِبُوا بِسَهْمِي مَعَكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that we camped at a place, and a woman came to us and said, "Our chief has been stung by something poisonous. Does anyone among you know how to perform ruqyah (spiritual healing)?" One man went with her. We did not think that he knew how to perform ruqyah well. He went to that man and performed ruqyah on him, and he became healthy. Those people presented him with a flock of thirty sheep and gave us milk to drink. When he returned, we asked him, "Do you know how to perform ruqyah?" He said, "No, I only recited Surah Al-Fatiha and performed ruqyah with it." I said to him, "Do not do anything new before reaching the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." So we went to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned the whole incident. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "How did he know that it is a ruqyah?" Then he said, "Take that flock of sheep and include my share with yours in it."
Hadith 11788
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ وَحَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ , قَالَ حَمَّادٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، وَلَمْ يَجُزْ سُفْيَانُ أَبَاهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْأَرْضُ كُلُّهَا مَسْجِدٌ إِلَّا الْمَقْبَرَةَ وَالْحَمَّامَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The whole earth is a mosque and a means of purification, except for graveyards and bathhouses.
Hadith 11789
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، فَقَالَ : عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ فِيمَا يَحْسَبُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 11790
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ أَبِي عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّارِ مَسِيرَةَ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fasts for one day in the way of Allah, Allah, due to the blessing of that day, will keep him seventy years' distance away from Hell.
Hadith 11791
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَلَّهُ أَفْرَحُ بِتَوْبَةِ عَبْدِهِ مِنْ رَجُلٍ أَضَلَّ رَاحِلَتَهُ بِفَلَاةٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ ، فَطَلَبَهَا ، فَلَمْ يَقْدِرْ عَلَيْهَا ، فَتَسَجَّى لِلْمَوْتِ ، فَبَيْنَا هُوَ كَذَلِكَ إِذْ سَمِعَ وَجْبَةَ الرَّاحِلَةِ حِينَ بَرَكَتْ ، فَكَشَفَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ ، فَإِذَا هُوَ بِرَاحِلَتِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that Allah Almighty is more pleased with the repentance of His servant than that person whose mount is lost in the wilderness, he searches for it but cannot find it anywhere, and then he lies down covering himself, ready for death. Suddenly, he hears the sound of his mount, and when he uncovers his face and looks, it is his own mount.
Hadith 11792
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْحُدَّانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : عَدَا الذِّئْبُ عَلَى شَاةٍ ، فَأَخَذَهَا ، فَطَلَبَهُ الرَّاعِي ، فَانْتَزَعَهَا مِنْهُ ، فَأَقْعَى الذِّئْبُ عَلَى ذَنَبِهِ ، قَالَ : أَلَا تَتَّقِي اللَّهَ ، تَنْزِعُ مِنِّي رِزْقًا سَاقَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَيَّ ، فَقَالَ : يَا عَجَبِي ، ذِئْبٌ مُقْعٍ عَلَى ذَنَبِهِ يُكَلِّمُنِي كَلَامَ الْإِنْسِ ؟ فَقَالَ الذِّئْبُ : أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ بِأَعْجَبَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ : مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَثْرِبَ ، يُخْبِرُ النَّاسَ بِأَنْبَاءِ مَا قَدْ سَبَقَ , قَالَ : فَأَقْبَلَ الرَّاعِي يَسُوقُ غَنَمَهُ حَتَّى دَخَلَ الْمَدِينَةَ ، فَزَوَاهَا إِلَى زَاوِيَةٍ مِنْ زَوَايَاهَا ، ثُمَّ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَخْبَرَهُ ، فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَنُودِيَ الصَّلَاةُ جَامِعَةٌ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ ، فَقَالَ لِلرَّاعِي : " أَخْبِرْهُمْ " , فَأَخْبَرَهُمْ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَدَقَ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يُكَلِّمَ السِّبَاعُ الْإِنْسَ ، وَيُكَلِّمَ الرَّجُلَ عَذَبَةُ سَوْطِهِ ، وَشِرَاكُ نَعْلِهِ ، وَيُخْبِرَهُ فَخِذُهُ بِمَا أَحْدَثَ أَهْلُهُ بَعْدَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that a wolf attacked a goat and took it away. The shepherd went out in search of it and recovered it. The wolf sat on its tail and said, "Do you not fear Allah that you have snatched from me my sustenance which Allah had given me?" The shepherd said, "It is astonishing that a wolf is sitting on its tail and talking to me like a human being!" The wolf said, "Shall I not tell you something even more astonishing than this? Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is in Yathrib telling people news of the past." When the shepherd drove his goats back to Madinah, he left his goats in a corner and came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and narrated the whole incident. At the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the call of "As-Salat Jami'ah" was made. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out of his house and said to the shepherd, "Relate your incident before the people." He narrated the whole incident before the people. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He has spoken the truth. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, the Hour will not be established until wild beasts speak to humans, and a man's whip and the strap of his sandal speak to him, and his thigh informs him of what his family did behind him."
Hadith 11793
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَمْنَعَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ مَخَافَةُ النَّاسِ أَنْ يَقُولَ بِالْحَقِّ إِذَا شَهِدَهُ ، أَوْ عَلِمَهُ " ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : فَحَدَّثْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ قَتَادَةَ ، فَقَالَ : مَا هَذَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ؟ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَمْنَعَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ مَخَافَةُ النَّاسِ أَنْ يَقُولَ بِالْحَقِّ ، إِذَا شَهِدَهُ ، أَوْ عَلِمَهُ " . قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ : فَحَمَلَنِي عَلَى ذَلِكَ أَنْ رَكِبْتُ إِلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ ، فَمَلَأْتُ أُذُنَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ رَجَعْتُ ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : حَدَّثَنِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ أَرْبَعَةُ نَفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ : قَتَادَةُ ، وَأَبُو مَسْلَمَةَ ، وَالْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، وَرَجُلٌ آخَرُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The awe and fear of people should not prevent any of you from speaking the truth when he comes to know of it. Upon saying this, Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) began to weep and said: By Allah! We have seen such circumstances but we did not stand up.
Hadith 11794
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , وَأَبُو النَّضْرِ , قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا شَكَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، فَلَمْ يَدْرِ ثَلَاثًا صَلَّى أَمْ أَرْبَعًا ، فَلْيَقُمْ ، فَلْيُصَلِّ رَكْعَةً ، قَالَ يَزِيدُ : حَتَّى يَكُونَ الشَّكُّ فِي الزِّيَادَةِ ، ثُمَّ لِيَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيْ السَّهْوِ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ صَلَّى خَمْسًا شَفَعَتَا لَهُ صَلَاتَهُ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ صَلَّى أَرْبَعًا فَهُمَا يُرْغِمَانِ الشَّيْطَانَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you is praying and does not remember how many rak'ahs he has prayed, he should act on what he is certain of, and then while sitting, perform two prostrations of forgetfulness (sujood as-sahw). Because if his prayer was odd, it will become even, and if it was even, it will be a humiliation for Satan.
Hadith 11795
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى . قَالَ أَبِي : وَأَبُو بَدْرٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا اجْتَمَعَ ثَلَاثَةٌ فَلْيَؤُمَّهُمْ أَحَدُهُمْ ، وَأَحَقُّهُمْ بِالْإِمَامَةِ أَقْرَؤُهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Where there are three people, then at the time of prayer one should become the imam, and among them, the one who knows the most Qur'an has the greatest right to lead.
Hadith 11796
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَلَا إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا خَضِرَةٌ حُلْوَةٌ ، أَلَا فَاتَّقُوا الدُّنْيَا ، وَاتَّقُوا النِّسَاءَ ، أَلَا وَإِنَّ لِكُلِّ غَادِرٍ لِوَاءً ، وَإِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ذَاكُمْ غَدْرًا أَمِيرُ الْعَامَّةِ " , فَمَا نَسِيتُ رَفْعَهُ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The world is lush, green, and sweet. Allah will grant you succession in it to see what deeds you perform. Remember! On the Day of Resurrection, every deceiver will have a flag according to the extent of his deceit, and the greatest deceit will be that of the person who is the general ruler of the entire country.
Hadith 11797
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، " أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَصَابُوا سَبَايَا يَوْمَ أَوْطَاسٍ ، لَهُنَّ أَزْوَاجٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشِّرْكِ ، فَكَانَ أُنَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَفُّوا ، وَتَأَثَّمُوا مِنْ غِشْيَانِهِنَّ . قَالَ : فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ فِي ذَلِكَ : وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ إِلا مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ سورة النساء آية 24 " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that among the captives of the Battle of Autas, women were given to us as spoils of war. Those women had husbands, and we did not feel it was right to have relations with them while their husbands were alive. (So we asked the Prophet ﷺ about this matter.) Then this verse was revealed: "And married women are also forbidden to you, except those whom your right hands possess." Thus, it is lawful to benefit from those who are your slave women.
Hadith 11798
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، وَعَفَّانُ , قَالَا : حدثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ الْهَاشِمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : نِسَاءً .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 11799
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ بَكْرٍ الْمُزَنِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ : رَأَيْتُ رُؤْيَا وَأَنَا أَكْتُبُ سُورَةَ ص ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا بَلَغْتُ السَّجْدَةَ ، رَأَيْتُ الدَّوَاةَ وَالْقَلَمَ وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ بِحَضْرَتِي انْقَلَبَ سَاجِدًا . قَالَ : فَقَصَصْتُهَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَسْجُدُ بِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he saw in a dream that he was writing Surah Sad. When he reached the verse of prostration, he saw that the inkwell, pen, and everything that was present there all fell into prostration. Upon waking up, he related this dream to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and after that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) always performed the prostration of recitation in it.
Hadith 11800
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَتَتَّبِعُنَّ سَنَنَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ ، شِبْرًا بِشِبْرٍ ، وَذِرَاعًا بِذِرَاعٍ ، حَتَّى لَوْ دَخَلُوا جُحْرَ ضَبٍّ لَتَبِعْتُمُوهُمْ " ، قُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى ؟ قَالَ : " فَمَنْ ؟ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "You will surely follow the ways of those before you, handspan by handspan and arm's length by arm's length, so much so that if they entered a lizard's hole, you would follow them into it." We said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! Do you mean the Jews and the Christians?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Who else?"
Hadith 11801
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَتْ امْرَأَةُ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ مُعَطَّلٍ ، إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : إِنَّ صَفْوَانَ يُفَطِّرُنِي إِذَا صُمْتُ ، وَيَضْرِبُنِي إِذَا صَلَّيْتُ ، وَلَا يُصَلِّي الْغَدَاةَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ ، قَالَ : فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا تَقُولُ هَذِهِ ؟ " , قَالَ : أَمَّا قَوْلُهَا : يُفَطِّرُنِي ، فَإِنِّي رَجُلٌ شَابٌّ ، وَقَدْ نَهَيْتُهَا أَنْ تَصُومَ , قَالَ : فَيَوْمَئِذٍ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تَصُومَ الْمَرْأَةُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ زَوْجِهَا . قَالَ : وَأَمَّا قَوْلُهَا : إِنِّي أَضْرِبُهَا عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ ، فَإِنَّهَا تَقْرَأُ بِسُورَتَيْ ، فَتُعَطِّلُنِي , قَالَ : " لَوْ قَرَأَهَا النَّاسُ مَا ضَرَّكَ " , وَأَمَّا قَوْلُهَا : إِنِّي لَا أُصَلِّي حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ ، فَإِنِّي ثَقِيلُ الرَّأْسِ ، وَأَنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ يُعْرَفُونَ بِذَاكَ ، بِثِقَلِ الرُّءُوسِ ، قَالَ : " فَإِذَا قُمْتَ فَصَلِّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the wife of Safwan bin Mu'attal came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), while we were present there. She said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! When I pray, my husband Safwan bin Mu'attal beats me, and when I fast, he makes me break it, and he himself does not pray Fajr until the sun rises." Safwan was also present there. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked him about this, so he said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! As for what she said, that when she prays, I beat her, it is because she recites two surahs in one rak'ah. I forbade her from this." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "One surah is sufficient for all people." "As for her saying that I make her break her fast, she keeps voluntary fasts. I am a young man and I cannot be patient." On that day, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "No woman should keep a voluntary fast without her husband's permission." "And as for her saying that I do not pray Fajr until the sun rises, it is well known among our household that we only wake up after the sun has risen." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Whenever you wake up, perform the prayer."
Hadith 11802
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ زَاذَانَ ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَقُومُ فِي الظُّهْرِ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ ، فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ قَدْرَ قِرَاءَةِ ثَلَاثِينَ آيَةً ، وَفِي الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ قَدْرَ قِرَاءَةِ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ آيَةً ، وَكَانَ يَقُومُ فِي الْعَصْرِ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَتَيْنِ ، فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ قَدْرَ قِرَاءَةِ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ آيَةً ، وَفِي الْأُخْرَتَيْنِ قَدْرَ نِصْفِ ذَلِكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that (we used to estimate the standing of the Prophet ﷺ in the Zuhr and Asr prayers, so our estimation was that) in the first two rak'ahs, the Prophet ﷺ would stand for the duration it takes to recite thirty verses, and in the last two rak'ahs, he would stand for half of that. In the Asr prayer, in the first two rak'ahs, he would stand for half of that, and in the last two rak'ahs, he would stand for half of that as well.
Hadith 11803
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَدْعُو بِعَرَفَةَ هَكَذَا ، يَعْنِي بِظَاهِرِ كَفِّهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was standing in the plain of Arafat making supplication in such a manner that the backs of his hands were facing the ground.
Hadith 11804
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ الْفِطْرِ ، وَيَوْمِ الْأَضْحَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting on the days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
Hadith 11805
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، وَسُرَيْجٌ , قَالَا : حدثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنِ الْكُرَّاثِ ، وَالْبَصَلِ ، وَالثُّومِ " ، فَقُلْنَا : أَحَرَامٌ هُوَ ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، وَلَكِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade garlic and onion. We asked him, "Are these things forbidden?" He replied, "No, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has prohibited them."
Hadith 11806
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ , يَقُولُ : " وَقَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَرَفَةَ ، فَجَعَلَ يَدْعُو هَكَذَا ، وَجَعَلَ ظَهْرَ كَفَّيْهِ مِمَّا يَلِي وَجْهَهُ ، وَرَفَعَهُمَا فَوْقَ ثَنْدُوَتِهِ ، وَأَسْفَلَ مِنْ مَنْكِبَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was standing in the plain of Arafat making supplication in such a way that he had raised his hands in front of his chest and below his shoulders, and the backs of his palms were facing towards the ground.
Hadith 11807
(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي الْحَكَمُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عِكْرِمَةَ , يَقُولُ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا نَتَزَوَّدُ مِنْ وَشِيقِ الْحَجِّ ، حَتَّى يَكَادَ يَحُولُ عَلَيْهِ الْحَوْلُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that we used to use the leftover provisions from Hajj, and nearly the entire year would pass by relying on it.
Hadith 11808
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ النَّاجِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْمُتَوَكِّلِ النَّاجِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَصْحَابِهِ الظُّهْرَ ، قَالَ : فَدَخَلَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا حَبَسَكَ يَا فُلَانُ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ ؟ " , قَالَ : فَذَكَرَ شَيْئًا اعْتَلَّ بِهِ , قَالَ : فَقَامَ يُصَلِّي ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَا رَجُلٌ يَتَصَدَّقُ عَلَى هَذَا فَيُصَلِّيَ مَعَهُ ؟ " , قَالَ : فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ ، فَصَلَّى مَعَهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) in the Zuhr prayer. After the prayer, a man came; the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked him, "What prevented you from performing the prayer?" He mentioned a reason and intended to pray. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Who will give charity to him by praying with him?" Upon this, a man went and prayed with him.
Hadith 11809
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : غَلَا السِّعْرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالُوا لَهُ : لَوْ قَوَّمْتَ لَنَا سِعْرَنَا ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمُقَوِّمُ أَوْ الْمُسَعِّرُ ، إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ أُفَارِقَكُمْ ، وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ يَطْلُبُنِي بِمَظْلَمَةٍ فِي مَالٍ ، وَلَا نَفْسٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once during the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), prices increased, so the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) requested, "Please fix prices for us." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The one who sets prices and fixes rates is Allah alone. I wish that when I depart from you, none of you should have any claim against me regarding any injustice to his wealth or life."
Hadith 11810
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ تَبِعَ جِنَازَةً ، فَلَا يَجْلِسْ حَتَّى تُوضَعَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever accompanies a funeral should not sit down before the funeral is placed on the ground.
Hadith 11811
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَكْلِ لُحُومِ الْأَضَاحِيِّ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ " ، قَالَ : فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ لَنَا عِيَالًا ، قَالَ : " كُلُوا ، وَادَّخِرُوا ، وَأَحْسِنُوا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade eating the meat of sacrifice for more than three days. The people came and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! We also have children and families." Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You may eat, store, and do so in a good manner."
Hadith 11812
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ إِيَاسٍ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أُرَاهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا أَتَيْتَ عَلَى حَائِطٍ ، فَنَادِ صَاحِبَهُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، فَإِنْ أَجَابَكَ وَإِلَّا فَكُلْ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ لاَ تُفْسِدَ ، وَإِنْ أَتَيْتَ عَلَى رَاعٍ ، فَنَادِهِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، فَإِنْ أَجَابَكَ ، وَإِلَّا فَكُلْ وَاشْرَبْ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ لا تُفْسِدَ " . (حديث مرفوع) (حديث موقوف) قَالَ : وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الضِّيَافَةُ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ ، فَمَا بَعْدُ فَصَدَقَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you enter an orchard and intend to eat, call the owner of the orchard three times. If he comes, very good; otherwise, eat alone but do not exceed the limits. Similarly, when you pass by a shepherd, call him three times. If he comes, very good; otherwise, you may drink his milk as long as you do not exceed the limits. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hospitality is for three days; whatever is beyond that is charity. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hospitality is for three days; whatever is beyond that is charity.
Hadith 11813
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي صَعْصَعَةَ ، وهما رجلان من الأنصار من بني مازن بن النجار وكانا ثقة ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ أَبِي حَسَنٍ ، وَعَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، وَهُمَا مِنْ رَهْطِهِمَا وَكَانَا ثِقَةً ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسِ أَوَاقٍ مِنَ الْوَرِقِ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَلَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسٍ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَلَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسِ أَوْسُقٍ مِنَ التَّمْرِ صَدَقَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: There is no zakat on silver less than five uqiyah, no zakat on camels less than five, and no zakat on dates less than five wasq.
Hadith 11814
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ ، رَأَيْتُ النَّاسَ يُعْرَضُونَ وَعَلَيْهِمْ قُمُصٌ ، مِنْهَا مَا يَبْلُغُ الثَّدْيَ ، وَمِنْهَا مَا يَبْلُغُ دُونَ ذَلِكَ ، وَمَرَّ عَلَيَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ، وَعَلَيْهِ قَمِيصٌ يَجُرُّهُ " ، قَالُوا : فَمَا أَوَّلْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " الدِّينُ " ، قَالَ يَعْقُوبُ : مَا أُحْصِي مَا سَمِعْتُهُ ، يَقُولُ : حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحٌ , عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once I was sleeping and I saw in a dream that people were being presented before me and they were wearing shirts, but some people's shirts reached their chests and some were lower than that. When Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by me, the shirt he was wearing was dragging on the ground. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), what interpretation did you give to this?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Religion.
Hadith 11815
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي سَلِيطُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، ثُمَّ أَحَدِ بَنِي عَدِيِّ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قِيلَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَيْفَ يُسْتَقَى لَكَ مِنْ بِئْرِ بُضَاعَةَ بِئْرِ بَنِي سَاعِدَةَ ، وَهِيَ بِئْرٌ يُطْرَحُ فِيهَا مَحَايِضُ النِّسَاءِ ، وَلَحْمُ الْكِلَابِ ، وَعَذِرُ النَّاسِ ؟ قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الْمَاءَ طَهُورٌ ، لَا يُنَجِّسُهُ شَيْءٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once someone asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), can we perform ablution with the water of the well of Buda'ah?" In fact, dirty clothes of women, other foul-smelling things, and the flesh of dogs were thrown into this well. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Water is pure; nothing can make it impure."
Hadith 11816
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قُسَيْطٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، أَوْ أَخِيهِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ عَلَى مِنْبَرِهِ ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي قَدْ أُرِيتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ ، ثُمَّ أُنْسِيتُهَا ، وَرَأَيْتُ أَنَّ فِي ذِرَاعِي سِوَارَيْنِ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، فَكَرِهْتُهُمَا ، فَنَفَخْتُهُمَا فَطَارَا ، فَأَوَّلْتُهُمَا هَذَيْنِ الْكَذَّابَيْنِ : صَاحِبَ الْيَمَنِ ، وَصَاحِبَ الْيَمَامَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying from the pulpit: O people! I saw the Night of Qadr but then it was made to be forgotten by me. Also, I saw in a dream that two gold bangles were placed on my hands. They were very burdensome to me, so I blew on them and they disappeared. I interpreted this as referring to two great liars: the one from Yemen (Aswad Ansi) and the one from Yamamah (Musaylimah the Liar).
Hadith 11817
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : فَحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرِ بْنِ حَزْمٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ كَعْبٍ ، وَكَانَتْ عِنْدَ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : اشْتَكَى عَلِيًّا النَّاسُ ، قَالَ : فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِينَا خَطِيبًا ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، لَا تَشْكُوا عَلِيًّا ، فَوَاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ لَأُخَيْشِنٌ فِي ذَاتِ اللَّهِ " ، أَوْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some people complained about Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to deliver a sermon among us, and I heard him say: "O people! Do not complain about Ali. By Allah! He is very strict in matters concerning Allah or in the way of Allah."
Hadith 11818
