Hadith 11541
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا الْمُثَنَّى يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ مَرْوَانَ يَسْأَلُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ : أَسَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَنْهَى عَنِ النَّفْخِ فِي الشَّرَابِ ؟ فَقَالَ : نَعَمْ , قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : فَإِنِّي لَا أُرْوَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مِنْ نَفَسٍ وَاحِدٍ ؟ قَالَ : " فَأَبِنْ الْقَدَحَ عَنْ فِيكَ ، ثُمَّ تَنَفَّسْ " ، قَالَ : إِنِّي أَرَى الْقَذَى فِيهِ ؟ قَالَ : " فَأَهْرِقْهُ " .
Abu al-Muthanna, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once Marwan asked Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, "Did you hear the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbidding breathing into drinks?" He replied, "Yes!" A man said, "I cannot quench my thirst in one breath, what should I do?" He replied, "Separate the vessel from your mouth and then breathe." He said, "If I see a straw or something similar in it, should I blow into it?" He replied, "Pour it out."
Hadith 11542
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَكُونَ خَيْرَ مَالِ الرَّجُلِ غَنَمٌ يَتْبَعُ بِهَا شَعَفَ الْجِبَالِ ، وَمَوَاقِعَ الْقَطْرِ ، يَفِرُّ بِدِينِهِ مِنَ الْفِتَنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon the best wealth of a Muslim will be sheep, which he will take to the tops of mountains and places where rain falls, fleeing with his religion from tribulations.
Hadith 11543
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، وَعَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ , عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، كِلَاهُمَا يَرْوِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنِّي كُنْتُ حَرَّمْتُ لُحُومَ الْأَضَاحِيِّ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ ، فَكُلُوا وَتَزَوَّدُوا ، وَادَّخِرُوا مَا شِئْتُمْ " . وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ : كُلُوا وَأَطْعِمُوا ، وَادَّخِرُوا مَا شِئْتُمْ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I had forbidden you from keeping the meat of sacrifice for more than three days, now you may eat it and store it for as long as you wish.
Hadith 11544
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، وَرَوْحٌ , قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو قَزَعَةَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا نَضْرَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، وَحَسَنًا أَخْبَرَهُمَا ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ وَفْدَ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ لَمَّا أَتَوْا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالُوا : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، جَعَلَنَا اللَّهُ فِدَاكَ ، مَاذَا يَصْلُحُ لَنَا مِنَ الْأَشْرِبَةِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " لَا تَشْرَبُوا فِي النَّقِيرِ " , فَقَالُوا : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، جَعَلنَا اللَّهُ فِدَاكَ ، أَوَتَدْرِي مَا النَّقِيرُ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، الْجِذْعُ يُنْقَرُ وَسَطُهُ ، وَلَا فِي الدُّبَّاءِ ، وَلَا فِي الْحَنْتَمَةِ ، وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالْمُوكَى " , قَالَ رَوْحٌ : بِالْمُوكَى مَرَّتَيْنِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some people from the delegation of Banu Abdul Qais came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! May our lives be sacrificed for you, what is appropriate for us regarding drinks?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do not drink anything in a 'naqir'." They said, "O Messenger of Allah! May our lives be sacrificed for you, do you know what a 'naqir' is?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Yes! It is a piece of wood that is hollowed out from the middle. Likewise, do not drink in gourds or jugs, but rather drink in a leather bag that is tied at the top."
Hadith 11545
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْعَزْلِ ، فَقَالَ : أَوَ إِنَّكُمْ تَفْعَلُونَ ؟ قَالُوا : نَعَمْ , قَالَ : " فَلَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوا ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى لَمْ يَقْضِ لِنَفْسٍ أَنْ يَخْلُقَهَا إِلَّا هِيَ كَائِنَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about 'azl (withdrawal before ejaculation). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Do you do that?" The people replied, "Yes!" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "If you do not do that, there is no harm upon you. The soul whom Allah Almighty has decided to bring into existence will surely come into existence."
Hadith 11546
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو النَّدَبِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تُوَاصِلُوا " ، قَالُوا : فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever wishes to observe continuous fasting with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor), let him do so until suhoor. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! You observe continuous fasting like this?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "In this matter, I am not like you. I spend the night in such a state that my Lord Himself gives me food and drink."
Hadith 11547
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحٌ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : اجْتَمَعَ أُنَاسٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، فَقَالُوا : آثَرَ عَلَيْنَا غَيْرَنَا ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَمَعَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ خَطَبَهُمْ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، أَلَمْ تَكُونُوا أَذِلَّةً فَأَعَزَّكُمْ اللَّهُ ؟ " , قَالُوا : صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ , قَالَ : " أَلَمْ تَكُونُوا ضُلَّالًا فَهَدَاكُمْ اللَّهُ ؟ " , قَالُوا : صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ , قَالَ : " أَلَمْ تَكُونُوا فُقَرَاءَ فَأَغْنَاكُمْ اللَّهُ ؟ " , قَالُوا : صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَلَا تُجِيبُونَنِي ، أَلَا تَقُولُونَ : أَتَيْتَنَا طَرِيدًا فَآوَيْنَاكَ ، وَأَتَيْتَنَا خَائِفًا فَأمَنَّاكَ ، أَلَا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ النَّاسُ بِالشَّاءِ وَالْبُقْرَانِ يَعْنِي الْبَقَرَ وَتَذْهَبُونَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ فَتُدْخِلُونَهُ بُيُوتَكُمْ ، لَوْ أَنَّ النَّاسَ سَلَكُوا وَادِيًا أَوْ شُعْبَةً ، وَسَلَكْتُمْ وَادِيًا أَوْ شُعْبَةً ، لَسَلَكْتُ وَادِيَكُمْ أَوْ شُعْبَتَكُمْ ، لَوْلَا الْهِجْرَةُ لَكُنْتُ امْرَأً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، وَإِنَّكُمْ سَتَلْقَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً ، فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي عَلَى الْحَوْضِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some Ansar gathered and began to say that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has started giving preference to others over us. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to know of this, he gathered all the Ansar and, addressing them in a sermon, said: O group of Ansar! Were you not in a state of humiliation that Allah granted you honor? They said: Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Were you not astray that Allah honored you with guidance? They said: Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Were you not suffering from poverty that Allah enriched you? They said: Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Why do you not accept my words? Do you not say about me that you received me when my own people had abandoned me, you gave me refuge, I came to you in a state of fear, you granted me security? Are you not pleased that people take away cows and goats, and you take the Messenger of Allah and return to your homes? If people walk on one path and you walk on another, I will choose your path, and if there had been no migration, I would have been one of the Ansar. And after me, you will see others being given preference, so be patient until you meet me at the Hawd (Pond) of Kawthar.
Hadith 11548
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحٌ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، فِي قَوْلِهِ : وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِمْ مِنْ غِلٍّ سورة الأعراف آية 43 ، قَالَ : حدثَنَا أَبُو الْمُتَوَكِّلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَخْلُصُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ مِنَ النَّارِ ، فَيُحْبَسُونَ عَلَى قَنْطَرَةٍ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ ، فَيُقْتَصُّ لِبَعْضِهِمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, when the Muslims will be saved from Hell, they will be stopped on a bridge between Paradise and Hell, and retribution will be taken from them for the wrongs and worldly dealings they had with one another.
Hadith 11549
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ تَبُوكَ خَطَبَ النَّاسَ وَهُوَ مُسْنِدٌ ظَهْرَهُ إِلَى نَخْلَةٍ ، فَقَالَ : " أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ النَّاسِ وَشَرِّ النَّاسِ ؟ إِنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ النَّاسِ رَجُلًا عَمِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَلَى ظَهْرِ فَرَسِهِ ، أَوْ عَلَى ظَهْرِ بَعِيرِهِ ، أَوْ عَلَى قَدَمَيْهِ ، حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ الْمَوْتُ ، وَإِنَّ مِنْ شَرِّ النَّاسِ رَجُلًا فَاجِرًا جَرِيئًا ، يَقْرَأُ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ ، لَا يَرْعَوِي إِلَى شَيْءٍ مِنْهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), during the year of the Battle of Tabuk, delivered a sermon while leaning against a date palm tree and said: "Shall I not tell you about the best and the worst of people? The best person is the one who strives in the way of Allah with his horse, his camel, or on his feet until death. And the worst person is the wicked one who is bold in committing sins, recites the Noble Qur'an but is not affected by it at all."
Hadith 11550
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَأَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ أَخْبَرَاهُ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى نُخَامَةً فِي حَائِطِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَتَنَاوَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَصَاةً فَحَتَّهَا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " إِذَا تَنَخَّعَ أَحَدُكُمْ ، فَلَا يَتَنَخَّمْ قِبَلَ وَجْهِهِ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، لِيَبْصُقْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ، أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ الْيُسْرَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw sputum or nasal discharge stuck in the direction of the Qiblah in the mosque. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cleaned it with a pebble and, forbidding spitting in front or to the right side, said that one should spit to the left side or under one's foot.
Hadith 11551
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي بُكَيْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : أُصِيبَ رَجُلٌ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي ثِمَارٍ ابْتَاعَهَا ، فَكَثُرَ دَيْنُهُ , قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَصَدَّقُوا عَلَيْهِ " ، قَالَ : فَتَصَدَّقَ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ ، فَلَمْ يَبْلُغْ ذَلِكَ وَفَاءَ دَيْنِهِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خُذُوا مَا وَجَدْتُمْ ، وَلَيْسَ لَكُمْ إِلَّا ذَلِكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), a man bought some fruit but suffered a loss in it and incurred a large debt. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to give charity to him, and people gave him charity, but it was not enough to pay off his debts. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gathered his creditors and said, "Take whatever is available; you will not get anything beyond that."
Hadith 11552
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا وُضِعَتْ الْجِنَازَةُ ، فَاحْتَمَلَهَا الرِّجَالُ عَلَى أَعْنَاقِهِمْ ، فَإِنْ كَانَتْ صَالِحَةً ، قَالَتْ : قَدِّمُونِي ، وَإِنْ كَانَتْ غَيْرَ صَالِحَةٍ قَالَتْ : يَا وَيْلَهَا ، أَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ بِهَا ؟ يَسْمَعُ صَوْتَهَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا الْإِنْسَانَ ، وَلَوْ سَمِعَهَا الْإِنْسَانُ لَصُعِقَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the deceased is placed on the bier and people lift it onto their shoulders, if he was righteous, he says, "Take me quickly!" And if he was not righteous, he says, "Woe to me! Where are you taking me?" Everything except humans hears this voice, and if humans were to hear it, they would fall unconscious. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.
Hadith 11553
حَدَّثَنَا الْخُزَاعِيُّ يَعْنِي أَبَا سَلَمَةَ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : لَصَعِقَ .
Narrated to us by Al-Khuza'i, meaning Abu Salamah, except that he said: "He would have fainted."
Hadith 11554
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، وحدثَنَاه الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا لَيْثٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى الْمَهْرِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ جَاءَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ لَيَالِي الْحَرَّةِ ، فَاسْتَشَارَهُ فِي الْجَلَاءِ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ ، وَشَكَا إِلَيْهِ أَسْعَارَهَا وَكَثْرَةَ عِيَالِهِ ، وَأَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ لَا صَبْرَ لَهُ عَلَى جَهْدِ الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَقَالَ : وَيْحَكَ ، لَا آمُرُكَ بِذَلِكَ ، إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا يَصْبِرُ أَحَدٌ عَلَى جَهْدِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَلَأْوَائِهَا فَيَمُوتُ ، إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، إِذَا كَانَ مُسْلِمًا " .
Abu Sa'id, may Allah have mercy on him, who was the freed slave of Mahri, says: (When my brother passed away) I went to Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, and consulted him about leaving Madinah Munawwarah. I mentioned the large number of family members and the difficulties of travel, and that now I could no longer bear the hardships of Madinah Munawwarah. He said: "I am sorry for your thinking. I will not advise you to leave from here, because I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Whoever patiently endures the hardships and difficulties of Madinah Munawwarah, I will intercede for him on the Day of Resurrection, provided he is also a Muslim."
Hadith 11555
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنِي أَبُو نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، أَنَّ صَاحِبَ التَّمْرِ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِتَمْرَةٍ ، فَأَنْكَرَهَا ، فَقَالَ : " أَنَّى لَكَ هَذَا ؟ " , قَالَ : اشْتَرَيْنَا بِصَاعَيْنِ مِنْ تَمْرِنَا صَاعًا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَرْبَيْتُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that a date seller brought some dates to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) found something unusual about them, so he asked him, "Where did you get these from?" He said, "We gave two sa’ of our dates and took one sa’ of these good dates." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You have engaged in a usurious transaction."
Hadith 11556
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، وَأَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَأَبَا سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثُوا ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الذَّهَبُ بِالذَّهَبِ مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ ، وَالْفِضَّةُ بِالْفِضَّةِ مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ , عَيْنًا بِعَيْنٍ ، مَنْ زَادَ أَوْ ازْدَادَ فَقَدْ أَرْبَى " . قَالَ شُرَحْبِيلُ : إِنْ لَمْ أَكُنْ سَمِعْتُهُ ، فَأَدْخَلَنِي اللَّهُ النَّارَ .
Sharjeel reports that it is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), and Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Gold for gold and silver for silver should be exchanged in equal measure, whoever adds or demands an addition has engaged in usury. Sharjeel says: If I had not heard this hadith with my own ears, may Allah admit me into Hell.
Hadith 11557
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطُّفَاوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : اشْتَكَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَجَاءَهُ جِبْرِيلُ ، فَرَقَاهُ ، فَقَالَ : " بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيكَ ، مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ يُؤْذِيكَ ، مِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ وَحَاسِدٍ يَشْفِيكَ " ، أَوْ قَالَ : اللَّهُ يَشْفِيكَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked, "O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! Have you fallen ill?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Yes!" Upon this, Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) said, "I recite over you in the name of Allah, from every thing that harms you, and from the evil of every soul and the evil eye; may Allah grant you healing. I recite over you in the name of Allah."
Hadith 11558
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَجِيءُ النَّبِيُّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَعَهُ الرَّجُلُ ، وَالنَّبِيُّ وَمَعَهُ الرَّجُلَانِ ، وَأَكْثَرُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ ، فَيُدْعَى قَوْمُهُ ، فَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ : هَلْ بَلَّغَكُمْ هَذَا ؟ فَيَقُولُونَ : لَا , فَيُقَالُ لَهُ : هَلْ بَلَّغْتَ قَوْمَكَ ؟ فَيَقُولُ : نَعَمْ , فَيُقَالُ لَهُ : مَنْ يَشْهَدُ لَكَ ؟ فَيَقُولُ : مُحَمَّدٌ وَأُمَّتُهُ , فَيُدْعَى مُحَمَّدٌ وَأُمَّتُهُ ، فَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ : هَلْ بَلَّغَ هَذَا قَوْمَهُ ؟ فَيَقُولُونَ : نَعَمْ , فَيُقَالُ : وَمَا عِلْمُكُمْ ؟ فَيَقُولُونَ : جَاءَنَا نَبِيُّنَا ، فَأَخْبَرَنَا أَنَّ الرُّسُلَ قَدْ بَلَّغُوا ، فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ : وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا سورة البقرة آية 143 ، قَالَ : يَقُولُ : عَدْلًا ، لِتَكُونُوا شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًا سورة البقرة آية 143 " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, a prophet will come, and with him will be only one man; with another prophet, there will be only two men. They will be asked: Did you convey the message of Tawheed? They will reply: Yes! Then their people will be called and asked: Did he convey the message to you? They will reply: No. The prophet will be asked: Who will testify in your favor? He will reply: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Ummah. Then they will be asked: Did they convey the message of Tawheed to their people? They will reply: Yes! They will be asked: How did you know? They will reply: Our Prophet came to us and informed us that all the prophets had conveyed the message of Tawheed. This is the meaning of the verse "Thus We have made you a just (wasat) community," that in this, "wasat" means moderate.
Hadith 11559
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَرْطَاةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الزَّهْوِ وَالتَّمْرِ ، وَالزَّبِيبِ وَالتَّمْرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making nabidh by mixing unripe and ripe dates, or dates and raisins.
Hadith 11560
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنِ سُمَيٍّ ، عَنْ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ أَبِي عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ النَّارَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fasts for one day in the way of Allah, Allah, due to the blessing of that day, will keep him seventy years' distance away from Hell.
Hadith 11561
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ , عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنِّي قَدْ تَرَكْتُ فِيكُمْ مَا إِنْ أَخَذْتُمْ بِهِ ، لَنْ تَضِلُّوا بَعْدِي ، الثَّقَلَيْنِ ، وَأَحَدُهُمَا أَكْبَرُ مِنَ الْآخَرِ ، كِتَابُ اللَّهِ حَبْلٌ مَمْدُودٌ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ ، وَعِتْرَتِي أَهْلُ بَيْتِي ، أَلَا وَإِنَّهُمَا لَنْ يَفْتَرِقَا حَتَّى يَرِدَا عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ " .
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I am leaving among you two important things, one of which is greater than the other; one is the Book of Allah, which is a rope hanging from the sky to the earth, and the other is my Ahl al-Bayt. These two things will not separate from each other until they come to me at the Pond of Kawthar.
Hadith 11562
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ " يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ مُتَوَشِّحًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I presented myself in the court of the Prophet, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing prayer, having placed both ends of a cloth over his shoulders.
Hadith 11563
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ " يُصَلِّي عَلَى حَصِيرٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I presented myself in the court of Prophethood, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing prayer on a mat.
Hadith 11564
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا إِدْرِيسُ الْأَوْدِيُّ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسَةِ أَوْسَاقٍ زَكَاةٌ ، وَالْوَسْقُ سِتُّونَ مَخْتُومًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no zakat on wheat less than five wasq."
Hadith 11565
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنِ اسْتِئْجَارِ الْأَجِيرِ حَتَّى يُبَيَّنَ لَهُ أَجْرُهُ ، وَعَنِ النَّجْشِ ، وَاللَّمْسِ ، وَإِلْقَاءِ الْحَجَرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade employing anyone for wages until his wage was made clear, and he also forbade deception in trade, and selling with the condition of touching (the goods) or throwing a stone.
Hadith 11566
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْوَدَّاكِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْعَزْلِ ، فَقَالَ : " لَيْسَ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَاءِ يَكُونُ الْوَلَدُ ، وَإِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا لَمْ يَمْنَعْهُ شَيْءٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about coitus interruptus (‘azl). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “A child is not created from every drop of water, and when Allah intends to create someone, no one can prevent it.”
Hadith 11567
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : حدثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا قَضَى أَحَدُكُمْ صَلَاتَهُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَلْيَجْعَلْ لِبَيْتِهِ نَصِيبًا مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَاعِلٌ فِي بَيْتِهِ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ خَيْرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When any one of you has performed prayer in the mosque, he should also keep a portion of prayer for his house, because by the blessing of prayer, Allah sends goodness into the house.
Hadith 11568
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا قَضَى أَحَدُكُمْ صَلَاتَهُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَلْيَجْعَلْ لِبَيْتِهِ نَصِيبًا مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ جَاعِلٌ فِي بَيْتِهِ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ خَيْرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When any one of you has performed prayer in the mosque, he should also keep a portion of prayer for his house, because by the blessing of prayer, Allah sends goodness into the house.
Hadith 11569
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِذَا قَضَى أَحَدُكُمْ صَلَاتَهُ " , فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ .
Musa narrated to us, Ibn Lahi‘ah narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, that Abu Sa‘id said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "When one of you has finished his prayer," and he mentioned its meaning.
Hadith 11570
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حدثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْوِصَالِ فِي الصِّيَامِ " , وَهَذِهِ أُخْتِي تُوَاصِلُ ، وَأَنَا أَنْهَاهَا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade continuous fasting (without breaking the fast at sunset). My sister observes fasts in this manner and I also forbid her (but she does not refrain).
Hadith 11571
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُمَارَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ فِي أَقَلَّ مِنْ خَمْسَةِ أَوْسَاقٍ ، مِنْ حَبٍّ وَلَا تَمْرٍ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَلَيْسَ فِي أَقَلَّ مِنْ خَمْسَةِ أَوَاقٍ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَلَيْسَ فِي أَقَلَّ مِنْ خَمْسِ ذَوْدٍ صَدَقَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no zakat on wheat or dates less than five wasq, no zakat on silver less than five uqiyah, and no zakat on less than five camels."
Hadith 11572
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ مِثْلَهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ , وَقَالَ : تَمْرٍ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ : ثَمَرٍ ، وَقَالَ : حدثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ وَالثَّوْرِيُّ , عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ ، فَذَكَرَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 11573
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا اشْتَدَّ الْحَرُّ فَأَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ ، فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the heat becomes intense, perform the prayer at a cooler time, for the severity of heat is from the effect of the heat of Hell.
Hadith 11574
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، عَنْ قَزَعَةَ مَوْلَى زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَ صَلَاتَيْنِ : بَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ ، وَبَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no prayer after the Asr prayer until sunset, and after the Fajr prayer until sunrise.
Hadith 11575
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي صَعْصَعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسَةِ أَوْسُقٍ ، وَلَا خَمْسَةِ أَوَاقٍ ، وَلَا خَمْسِ ذَوْدٍ صَدَقَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no zakat on wheat or dates less than five wasq, no zakat on silver less than five uqiyah, and no zakat on less than five camels."
Hadith 11576
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، وَشُعْبَةَ , وَمَالِكٍ , عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 11577
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةِ " ، وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ : اشْتِرَاءُ الثَّمَرَةِ فِي رُؤُوسِ النَّخْلِ بِالتَّمْرِ كَيْلًا ، وَالْمُحَاقَلَةُ : كِرَاءُ الْأَرْضِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of Muzabana and Muhaqala. Muzabana refers to making a transaction by measuring the fruits on the trees in exchange for harvested dates, and Muhaqala means giving land on rent.
Hadith 11578
(حديث مرفوع) قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ , قَالَ أَبِي : وحَدَّثَنَاه أَبُو سَلَمَةَ يَعْنِي الْخُزَاعِيَّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " غُسْلُ الْجُمُعَةِ وَاجِبٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُحْتَلِمٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the day of Friday, it is obligatory for every adult person to perform ghusl (ritual bath).
Hadith 11579
(حديث مرفوع) قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " يَخْرُجُ فِيكُمْ قَوْمٌ تَحْقِرُونَ صَلَاتَكُمْ مَعَ صَلَاتِهِمْ ، وَصِيَامَكُمْ مَعَ صِيَامِهِمْ ، وَأَعْمَالَكُمْ مَعَ أَعْمَالِهِمْ ، يَقْرَؤُونَ الْقُرْآنَ لَا يُجَاوِزُ حَنَاجِرَهُمْ ، يَمْرُقُونَ مِنَ الدِّينِ مُرُوقَ السَّهْمِ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ ، يَنْظُرُ فِي النَّصْلِ فَلَا يَرَى شَيْئًا ، ثُمَّ يَنْظُرُ فِي الْقِدْحِ فَلَا يَرَى شَيْئًا ، وَيَنْظُرُ فِي الرِّيشِ فَلَا يَرَى شَيْئًا ، وَيَتَمَارَى فِي الْفُوقِ " . قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ : حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ مَالِكٌ ، يَعْنِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "A people will emerge among you, and you will consider your prayers insignificant compared to their prayers, and your fasts insignificant compared to their fasts, but they will go out of the religion just as an arrow passes through the prey. A man takes his arrow, looks at its tip and sees nothing on it, then looks at its sinew and sees nothing on it, then looks at its shaft and sees nothing on it, then looks at its feathers and sees nothing on them."
Hadith 11580
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : تَذَاكَرْنَا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ ، فَأَتَيْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ ، وَكَانَ صَدِيقًا لِي ، فَقُلْتُ : اخْرُجْ بِنَا إِلَى النَّخْلِ ، فَخَرَجَ وَعَلَيْهِ خَمِيصَةٌ لَهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَذْكُرُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، اعْتَكَفْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْعَشْرَ الْوَسَطَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ ، فَخَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَبِيحَةَ عِشْرِينَ ، فَقَالَ : " أُرِيتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فَأُنْسِيتُهَا ، أَوْ قَالَ فَنَسِيتُهَا ، فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ فِي الْوَتْرِ ، فَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُ أَنِّي أَسْجُدُ فِي مَاءٍ وَطِينٍ ، فَمَنْ كَانَ اعْتَكَفَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلْيَرْجِعْ " ، فَرَجَعْنَا وَمَا نَرَى فِي السَّمَاءِ قَزَعَةً ، فَجَاءَتْ سَحَابَةٌ فَمُطِرْنَا ، حَتَّى سَالَ سَقْفُ الْمَسْجِدِ ، وَكَانَ مِنْ جَرِيدِ النَّخْلِ ، وَأُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ ، وَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْجُدُ فِي الْمَاءِ وَالطِّينِ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ أَثَرَ الطِّينِ فِي جَبْهَتِهِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) observed i'tikaf during the middle ten days of Ramadan: we also observed i'tikaf with him. When the morning of the twentieth day came, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by us while we were moving our belongings. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever was observing i'tikaf should remain in his i'tikaf. I had seen Laylat al-Qadr, but then its exact determination was made to be forgotten by me. However, on that night I saw myself prostrating in mud. At that time, the roof of Masjid Nabawi was made of wood. That night it rained, and I saw that there were marks of mud on the nose and forehead of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
