It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of Eid al-Fitr, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would leave his house (for the Eid prayer ground) and lead the people in two units of prayer. After completing the prayer with salam, he would stand up, move forward, and face the people. The people would remain seated, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would encourage them three times to give charity. Most of the women on this occasion would give away earrings, rings, etc. as charity. Then, if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had any need to address the army, he would mention it; otherwise, he would return.

A freed slave of Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) says that once I entered the mosque with Hazrat Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) in the company of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). In the middle of the mosque, a man was sitting with his knees drawn up and had interlaced the fingers of his hands. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured to him to stop, but he did not understand the gesture of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned to Hazrat Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: When any one of you is in the mosque, he should not interlace his fingers, because this is a satanic act. And as long as a person remains in the mosque, until he leaves the mosque, he is counted among those who are offering prayer.

The people came to the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) and asked, "Is there anyone among you who knows how to perform ruqyah (spiritual healing)?" They replied, "Since you did not host us, we will not do this until you fix a reward for it." They agreed on a flock of sheep. So, one man went to the chief and recited Surah Al-Fatiha over him, and he was cured. The people presented them with the flock of sheep, but they refused to accept it until they had asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So they asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the ruling. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled and said, "How did you know that it is a ruqyah (incantation)?" Bilal bin Hisn says that once I was staying with Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him). On one occasion, we were both sitting together when he narrated that one day, when morning came, he had tied a stone to his stomach because of hunger. His wife or mother said to him that such and such people went to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and requested help, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) gave them something. Therefore, you should also go and make a request to him. I said that I will first search to see if I have anything with me or not. After searching, when I found nothing, I went to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him). At that time, the Prophet (peace be upon him) was delivering a sermon and was saying: Whoever seeks chastity, Allah grants him chastity; whoever seeks sufficiency from Allah, Allah grants him sufficiency; and whoever asks us for something, and we have it, we will give it to him, or we will show him compassion. Hearing this, the man returned and did not ask the Prophet (peace be upon him) for anything. After that, Allah granted us so much sustenance that, to my knowledge, among the Ansar there is no household wealthier than ours.
