Abu Abdur Rahman Hubli (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) took out a paper in front of us and said: "The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to teach us this supplication: O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, You are the Lord of everything and the God of everything. I bear witness that there is no god but You, You are alone, You have no partner, and that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is Your servant and Messenger, and the angels also bear witness to this. I seek refuge in You from Satan and his polytheism, and I seek refuge in You from committing any sin myself or bringing it upon any Muslim." (The Noble Prophet [peace and blessings be upon him] taught this supplication to Abdullah bin Amr [may Allah be pleased with him] to recite before sleeping.)

When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was overcome by his questioning, he said: "Jihad in the way of Allah." The man said, "But I have parents as well?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I command you to treat them well." He said, "By the One Who sent you with the truth, I will surely participate in jihad and leave them." It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us in such a manner as if someone bidding farewell, and he said three times: "I am Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, and there will be no prophet after me. I have been given the initial words, the concluding words, and the comprehensive words. I know how many are the angels who guard Hell and how many are the angels who bear the Throne of Allah. The limits have been set for me. Safety has been granted to me and my Ummah. Therefore, as long as I am among you, listen to and obey my words, and when I am taken away, hold fast to the Book of Allah. Consider its lawful as lawful and its unlawful as unlawful."

Once Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave a horse in the way of Allah for riding. After a short while, he saw that the man was selling it standing. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) intended to buy it, so he consulted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Ata bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I met Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him). I requested him to tell me about the attributes of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) that are mentioned in the Torah. He replied: "Well, by Allah, the same attributes are mentioned in the Torah as are mentioned in the Noble Qur'an: O Prophet (peace be upon him), We have sent you as a witness, a bearer of glad tidings, and a warner, and sent you as a protector for the unlettered. You are My servant and My messenger. I have named you 'Mutawakkil' (the one who relies on Allah). You are not harsh, hard-hearted, one who makes noise in the markets, nor do you repay evil with evil, but you forgive and pardon. Allah will not call him to Himself until He straightens the crooked nation through him so that they declare 'La ilaha illallah' (there is no god but Allah). Then, through him, Allah will open blind eyes, deaf ears, and hearts wrapped in veils." Ata says that after this I met Ka'b Ahbar and asked him the same question, and there was not a single letter of difference in the answers of both.

The passing away of your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) will feel as if someone has pulled out my heart." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is the first. So much wealth will come to you that even if someone is given ten thousand, he will remain displeased; this is the second. The trial that will enter every house, this is the third. Death like the neck-breaking disease of goats, this is the fourth. A truce between you and the Romans, which will last for the duration of a woman's pregnancy, i.e., nine months, during which they will remain with you, then they will be the first to break the covenant; this is the fifth thing. And the conquest of a city, this is the sixth thing." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Which city?" He replied: "Constantinople."

And the Qur'an will say: 'I kept him from sleeping at night, so accept my intercession for him.' Thus, their intercession will be accepted."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once during the blessed era of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), there was a solar eclipse, so the announcement was made: "The prayer is ready." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performed two bowings (ruku) in one rak'ah, and did the same in the second rak'ah. Then the sun became bright again. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that since that day, I have never seen such long bowings and prostrations.
