It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at the time of the Battle of Khaybar allotted two shares for the horse and one share for the rider. According to another narrator, the wording is that for a man and his horse, three shares were allotted, of which one share was for the man and two shares were for the horse.

At this, Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and took him to Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and said to her, "O Mother of the Believers! I ask you by Allah, did you hear the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that whoever goes with a funeral and offers the funeral prayer will receive a reward equal to one qirat, and if he also remains present at the time of burial, he will receive a reward equal to two qirats?" She replied, "By Allah! Yes." After this, Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Planting date palms or engaging in business in the markets was not the reason I did not attend the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (because I did not do these things). I used to seek two things from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): one was the knowledge that he taught me, and the other was the morsel that he fed me." Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said, "Abu Hurairah, you used to stay with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) more than us, and you are more knowledgeable than us regarding his hadith."

I asked him, "Where did the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pray?" He replied, "Here, between these two pillars."

Would it not be better if you stayed this year and did not go for Hajj?” Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) replied, “The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also set out from Madinah, and the disbelievers of Quraysh came between him and the Sacred Sanctuary. So, if any obstacle comes before me as well, I will do what the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did.” Then he recited this verse: “Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example,” and said, “I have already made the intention for ‘Umrah.” After that, he set out, and when he reached the place of Bayda’, he said, “The matter of Hajj and ‘Umrah is the same; I make you witnesses that I have now made the intention for Hajj along with my ‘Umrah.” Thus, he reached Makkah and performed a single Tawaf for both.

Whoever does not find sandals should cut the leather socks below the ankles and wear them. Likewise, a cap or any garment dyed with wars (a kind of grass) or saffron should also not be worn by a person in ihram."

But after the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), people started giving half a sa’ of wheat. Nafi’ says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to give dates as Sadaqat al-Fitr; there was only one occasion when this practice changed, and that was when dates became scarce, so that year he gave barley.

Among them, the lean horses were designated to race from "Hafyaa" to Thaniyyat al-Wada', and those that were not lean-bodied had their race from Thaniyyat al-Wada' to the Mosque of Banu Zuraiq. At that time, I had started horse riding, and I won that race; my horse brought me close to the Mosque of Banu Zuraiq.
