It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) promised the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to come at a certain time. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) waited for him at the appointed time, but when he did not come, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went outside the house and saw that he was standing at the door. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I kept waiting for you according to your promise." He replied, "There is a dog inside the house, and we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or pictures." In fact, there was a puppy under the bed of Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). By the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it was immediately taken out, and in the morning the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the killing of dogs.

And I have not seen the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fast in any month as much as I saw him fast in Sha'ban; the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would fast almost the entire month, leaving only a few days.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray eleven rak'ahs between Isha and Fajr, saying salam after every two rak'ahs. He would pray one rak'ah as Witr. In the nawafil, he would perform such a long prostration that before he raised his head, any one of you could recite fifty verses. When the muezzin finished giving the first adhan, he would pray two short rak'ahs, then lie down on his right side until the muezzin would come and inform the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that the prayer was about to begin.

Urwah says that once I asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the command of Allah, "So whoever makes Hajj to the House or performs Umrah, there is no blame upon him for walking between them." What does it mean? That if someone does not perform Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, there is no sin upon him? Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "Nephew! You have said something incorrect. If the verse meant what you have stated, then it would have been revealed as: 'there is no blame upon him for not walking between them.' In fact, the reason for the revelation of this verse is that before accepting Islam, the people of Ansar used to enter into Ihram for 'Manat' and worshipped it near Mushallal, and whoever entered into Ihram for it considered Sa'i between Safa and Marwah to be a sin. Then they asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), 'O Messenger of Allah! In the days of ignorance, people used to consider Sa'i between Safa and Marwah a sin. What is its ruling now?' Upon this, Allah revealed this verse, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) established the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah through his Sunnah. Therefore, now it is not correct for anyone to leave the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah."

I said, "Is that your intention? You would become a bridegroom with another woman and spend the night with her that very day." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Oh, my head! Call your father and brother to me so that I may write a document for Abu Bakr, for I fear that someone will say something or someone will wish for something, claiming that he is more deserving of the caliphate, but Allah and all the Muslims will accept no one except Abu Bakr."

Ubaid replied, "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, one of these recitations is dearer to me than the whole world and whatever is in it." She asked, "Which one is that?" Ubaid replied, "'alladhīna ya'tūna mā ataw'." She said, "I bear witness that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also recited this verse in this way, and in this way the verse was revealed. Second, if Allah becomes the guardian of a servant in this world, He will not hand him over to anyone else on the Day of Resurrection. Third, whoever loves a people, Allah will count him among them.
