It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were returning from a journey with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). We camped at Dhul-Hulaifah. Some people hurried and went to Madinah Munawwarah, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spent that night there, and we were with him. When morning came, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) inquired about those people. It was informed that they had hurried to Madinah. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They have hurried to Madinah Munawwarah and to their women, but a time will surely come when they will leave Madinah Munawwarah despite it being in its best condition." Then he said: "Soon, a fire will emerge from the mountain of Waraq in Yemen, by which the necks of the young camels of Busra will become illuminated like the brightness of the day."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that I used to serve the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When I finished my work, I would come to the mosque and lie down. One day, while I was lying down, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and nudged me with his blessed foot. I sat up straight. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Abu Dharr! What will you do when you are expelled from Madinah?" I replied, "I will return to Masjid Nabawi and my house." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "And when you are expelled from there as well, what will you do?" I replied, "At that time, I will take my sword and whoever tries to expel me, I will strike him with my sword." Upon hearing this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand on my shoulder and said three times, "Abu Dharr! Be forgiving, go wherever they take you, even if your ruler is an Abyssinian slave." Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when I was exiled to Rabadhah and the prayer was established, a black man who was in charge of the zakat animals stepped forward to lead the prayer. When he saw me, he stepped back and wanted to bring me forward, but I said to him, "You remain in your place; I will act upon the command of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."
Hadith 21292
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Islam is by nature an easy religion, and only an easy-going person rides upon it.
Hadith 21293
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Two men are better than one, three are better than two, and four are better than three. Therefore, it is obligatory upon you to adhere to the congregation, for Allah Almighty will never cause my Ummah to agree upon anything other than guidance.
Hadith 21294
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: If any of you loves his companion, he should go to his house and inform him that he loves him for the sake of Allah. And O Abu Dharr! I have come to your house for this very reason.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have been given five such characteristics which were not given to any prophet before me. Thus, I have been helped through awe, and the enemy becomes overawed by me from a distance of one month's journey. The entire earth has been made a place of prostration and a means of purification for me. The spoils of war have been made lawful for me, which were not made lawful for anyone before me. I have been sent to every red and black (i.e., to all mankind), and it was said to me: "Ask, you will be given." So I have reserved this right for the intercession of my Ummah, and this intercession will reach every one of you who meets Allah in such a state that he does not associate anyone with Him.

A man from Banu Amir (he is Abu al-Muhallab Khurmi) says: I was a disbeliever, but Allah guided me towards Islam. There was no water in our area. My wife was with me, due to which sometimes I would become junub (in a state of major ritual impurity). The importance of finding out about this issue settled in my heart. Someone told me about Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him). I set out for Hajj and when I entered the mosque at Mina, I recognized Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him). He was elderly, sweating, and wearing a woolen garment. I went and stood beside him; he was praying. I greeted him with salam, but he did not reply. After completing his prayer thoroughly, he replied to my salam. I asked him, "Are you Abu Dharr?" He said, "My family thinks so." Then I told him my story. He said, "Do you recognize Abu Dharr?" I said, "Yes!" He said, "The climate of Madinah did not suit me," or he said, "I developed a stomach illness. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed me to drink the milk of some camels and goats." Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I used to live far from water (sources). My family was with me. When I needed to perform ghusl, I would pray without attaining purity. Once, when I presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it was midday and he was sitting in the shade of the mosque with some of the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them). I said, 'O Messenger of Allah! I am ruined.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, 'What happened?' I said, 'O Prophet! I was far from water (sources), my wife was with me, and when I needed to perform ghusl, I would pray without performing ghusl.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered water to be brought for me. A black slave girl brought water for me in a large bowl. The water in the bowl was moving because the bowl was not full. I performed ghusl behind a camel and then presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'Pure earth is also a purifier as long as water is not available, even if you do not find water for ten years. However, when water is found, then pour it over your body.'"

Abu Al-Aliyah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Ubaidullah bin Ziyad delayed a prayer from its appointed time. I asked Abdullah bin Samit (may Allah have mercy on him) about this, so he struck my thigh with his hand and said: I asked this same question to my friend Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), and he struck my thigh with his hand and said: I asked this same question to my beloved (the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: Perform the prayer at its appointed time. If you have to join these people (in prayer), then pray with them again (with the intention of nafl). Do not say, "I have already prayed, so I will not pray now."

His ears have been given the ability to hear and his eyes the ability to see. The example of the ears is like that of a vessel’s base, while the eyes provide a place for the things preserved in the heart. And successful is the person whose heart is a preserver.

Thus, I have been helped through awe, and the enemy becomes overawed by me from a distance of one month's journey. The entire earth has been made a place of prostration and a means of purification for me. The spoils of war have been made lawful for me, which were not made lawful for anyone before me. I have been sent to every red and black (i.e., to all mankind), and it was said to me: "Ask, you will be given." He would perform ruku and sujood, then stand up and again perform ruku and sujood, and would not sit in between. I said, "By Allah! It seems as if he does not know anything, whether to end the prayer with salam on even or odd rak'ahs." The people said to me, "Why don't you go to him and explain to him?" So I went to him and said, "O servant of Allah! It seems you do not know whether to finish the prayer on even or odd rak'ahs." He said, "Allah knows, I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) say: 'Whoever performs a sajdah for Allah, Allah writes for him one good deed, erases one sin, and raises him one degree.'" I asked him, "Who are you?" He replied, "I am Abu Dharr." It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are three types of people with whom Allah will neither speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He look at them, nor will He purify them, and for them there will be a painful punishment. I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Who are these people? They are surely at a loss and in ruin." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated his statement three times and said: The one who lets his lower garment hang below his ankles, the one who sells his goods by swearing a false oath, and the one who reminds others of his favors.

Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) says that it is more beloved to me to swear ten times that Ibn Sayyad is the Dajjal than to swear once that he is not the Dajjal. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) once sent me to his mother and said, "Go and ask her how long she carried Ibn Sayyad in her womb." So I went and asked her, and she replied, "I carried him for twelve months." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me to her again and said, "Ask her what his cry was like when he was born." I went again and asked her this question, and she replied, "He cried and screamed like a one-month-old child." Then, once, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "I have thought of something in my mind for you, tell me what it is." He said, "You have thought of the nose of a white goat and smoke for me." He wanted to say the word "dukhan" (smoke), but he could not say it, so he only said "dukh." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "Go away, you can never go beyond your status."
Hadith 21320
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "Which speech is the best?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "That which Allah has chosen for His servants, that is: Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi."
Hadith 21321
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said (Allah Almighty says): If My servant comes before Me with sins filling the earth, I will come before him with forgiveness filling the earth.
Hadith 21322
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I do not like that Mount Uhud be turned into gold for me and that when I depart from this world, even one or half a dinar from it remains with me, except if I have kept it for the sake of a creditor.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a person does not even have the rear part of a camel saddle in front of him, then his prayer will be invalidated if a woman, a donkey, or a black dog passes in front of him. The narrator asked: What is the difference between a black dog and a red dog? Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: Nephew! I also asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) the same question as you have asked me, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The black dog is a devil.
Hadith 21324
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Abu Dharr! Perform the prayer at its appointed time. If you come at a time when the people have already performed the prayer, then you have preserved your prayer. And if they have not yet performed the prayer, then join them, and this prayer will be counted as a voluntary (nafl) prayer for you.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) rode on a donkey and made me sit behind him and said, "Abu Dharr! Tell me, when people are afflicted with severe famine and you are unable to get up from your bed to go to the mosque, what will you do at that time?" He replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Even at that time, protect yourself from asking (others)." Then he said, "Abu Dharr! Tell me, when people begin to die in great numbers and a man's house becomes his grave, what will you do?" He replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Even at that time, be patient." Then he said, "Abu Dharr! Tell me, when people begin to kill each other and Hijarat al-Zayt is drenched in blood, what will you do?" He replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "Sit in your house and lock its door from inside." He asked, "If I am not allowed to stay in my house, then what should I do?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then go to those people among whom you are and join them." He said, "I will take my weapon." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then you will be considered one of them. Therefore, if you fear the edge of the sword, then cover your face with your sheet so that he returns with his sin and yours."
Hadith 21326

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I asked in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, "How many vessels will there be at the Pond of Kawthar?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, there will be more vessels than the number of stars and planets in the sky on a dark night. They will be vessels of Paradise. Whoever drinks the water of this pond once will never feel thirsty again. Two streams of Paradise will be flowing into it. Whoever drinks its water will never feel thirsty again. Its width will be equal to its length, and its distance will be as much as from Oman to Aylah. Its water will be whiter than milk and sweeter than honey."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, during the night, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to pray and recited the same verse in bowing and prostration throughout the entire night until morning: "O Allah, if You punish them, they are Your servants, and if You forgive them, surely You are the Mighty, the Wise." When morning came, I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Did you recite the same verse continuously in bowing and prostration throughout the entire night until morning?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "I asked my Lord for the right of intercession for my Ummah, which He has granted me, and inshaAllah, it will be granted to everyone who does not associate anyone with Allah."
