Hadith of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 19485
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَمُوتُ مُسْلِمٌ إِلَّا أَدْخَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مَكَانَهُ النَّارَ يَهُودِيًّا ، أَوْ نَصْرَانِيًّا " . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whenever a Muslim dies, Allah Almighty admits a Jew or a Christian into Hell in his place. Abu Burdah narrated the previous hadith to Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him), so he asked Abu Burdah to swear by the name of Allah, besides whom there is no deity, that his father narrated this hadith and he heard it from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and Saeed bin Abi Burdah does not contradict what 'Awf says.
Hadith 19486
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، وَعَوْنِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، أَنَّهُمَا شَهِدَا أَبَا بُرْدَةَ ، يُحَدِّثُ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ ، قَالَ عَوْنٌ : فَاسْتَحْلَفَهُ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلَمْ يُنْكِرْ ذَلِكَ سَعِيدٌ عَلَى عَوْنٍ أَنَّهُ اسْتَحْلَفَهُ.
Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Abi Burdah, and 'Awn ibn 'Utbah, that they both witnessed Abu Burdah narrating to 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz this hadith. 'Awn said: He adjured him by Allah, besides Whom there is no deity, that his father had narrated to him that he heard it from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and Sa'id did not object to 'Awn for adjuring him.
Hadith 19487
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ ، إِنَّ الْمَعْرُوفَ وَالْمُنْكَرَ خَلِيقَتَانِ يُنْصَبَانِ لِلنَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، فَأَمَّا الْمَعْرُوفُ فَيُبَشِّرُ أَصْحَابَهُ ، وَيُوعِدُهُمْ الْخَيْرَ ، وَأَمَّا الْمُنْكَرُ ، فَيَقُولُ : إِلَيْكُمْ إِلَيْكُمْ ، وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ لَهُ إِلَّا لُزُومًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), goodness and evil are two creations that will be made to stand before the people on the Day of Resurrection. Goodness will give glad tidings to its companions and promise them good, and evil will say, "Stay away from me, stay away from me," but they will not be able to refrain from clinging to it.
Hadith 19488
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةً ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " عَلَى مَكَانِكُمْ اثْبُتُوا " ، ثُمَّ أَتَى الرِّجَالَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَأْمُرُنِي أَنْ آمُرَكُمْ أَنْ تَتَّقُوا اللَّهَ تَعَالَى ، وَأَنْ تَقُولُوا قَوْلًا سَدِيدًا " ، ثُمَّ تَخَلَّلَ إِلَى النِّسَاءِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُنَّ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَأْمُرُنِي أَنْ آمُرَكُنَّ أَنْ تَتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ، وَأَنْ تَقُولُوا قَوْلًا سَدِيدًا " ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ رَجَعَ حَتَّى أَتَى الرِّجَالَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِذَا دَخَلْتُمْ مَسَاجِدَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَأَسْوَاقَهُمْ وَمَعَكُمْ النَّبْلُ ، فَخُذُوا بِنُصُولِهَا ، لَا تُصِيبُوا بِهَا أَحَدًا ، فَتُؤْذُوهُ أَوْ تَجْرَحُوهُ " .
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Qais that once the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) led us in prayer, and after the prayer he said, "Remain seated in your places." Then he came to the men first and said, "Allah Almighty has commanded me to instruct you to fear Allah and to speak the truth." Then he went to the women and said to them as well, "Allah Almighty has commanded me to instruct you to fear Allah and to speak the truth." Then he returned to the men and said, "When you go to the mosques and markets of the Muslims and you have arrows with you, keep their tips under control, lest they strike someone and you cause harm or injure someone."
Hadith 19489
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حِدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، قَالَ : حُدِّثْتُ عَنِ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا قَدَّمْتُ ، وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ ، وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ ، وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ ، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ ، وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ ، وَأَنْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicating: O Allah! I seek forgiveness from You for the sins I have committed earlier or will commit later, those done secretly or openly. Surely, You are the One Who brings forward and Who delays, and You have power over everything.
Hadith 19490
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ : كَتَبَ عُمَرُ فِي وَصِيَّتِهِ : أَنْ لَا يُقَرَّ لِي عَامِلٌ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ سَنَةٍ ، وَأَقِرُّوا الْأَشْعَرِيَّ يَعْنِي : أَبَا مُوسَى أَرْبَعَ سِنِينَ .
Imam Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote in his will that none of his governors should be kept in office for more than one year, except Abu Musa Ash'ari, who should be kept for four years.
Hadith 19491
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا مَرَّتْ بِكُمْ جِنَازَةُ يَهُودِيٍّ ، أَوْ نَصْرَانِيٍّ ، أَوْ مُسْلِمٍ ، فَقُومُوا لَهَا ، فَلَسْتُمْ لَهَا تَقُومُونَ ، إِنَّمَا تَقُومُونَ لِمَنْ مَعَهَا مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the funeral procession of a Jew, Christian, or Muslim passes in front of you, then stand up, because you are not standing for the funeral itself, but for the angels who accompany the funeral.
Hadith 19492
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ حِطَّانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقَاشِيِّ ، عَنِ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ السَّاعَةِ الْهَرْجَ " ، قَالُوا : وَمَا الْهَرْجُ ؟ قَالَ : " الْقَتْلُ " ، قَالُوا : أَكْثَرُ مِمَّا نَقْتُلُ ؟ إِنَّا لَنَقْتُلُ كُلَّ عَامٍ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفًا ، قَالَ : " إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِقَتْلِكُمْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ، وَلَكِنْ قَتْلُ بَعْضِكُمْ بَعْضًا " ، قَالُوا : وَمَعَنَا عُقُولُنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ ؟ قَالَ : " إِنَّهُ لَتُنْزَعُ عُقُولُ أَهْلِ ذَلِكَ الزَّمَانِ ، وَيُخَلَّفُ لَهُ هَبَاءٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ ، يَحْسِبُ أَكْثَرُهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ عَلَى شَيْءٍ ، وَلَيْسُوا عَلَى شَيْءٍ " ، قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : قَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى : وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، مَا أَجِدُ لِي وَلَكُمْ مِنْهَا مَخْرَجًا إِنْ أَدْرَكَتْنِي وَإِيَّاكُمْ ، إِلَّا أَنْ نَخْرُجَ مِنْهَا كَمَا دَخَلْنَا فِيهَا ، لَمْ نُصِبْ مِنْهَا دَمًا وَلَا مَالًا.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Before the Day of Judgment, "Harj" will occur. People asked, "What is meant by 'Harj'?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Killing. People asked: Even more than the number we kill? We used to kill more than seventy thousand people every year! The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It does not mean killing the polytheists, rather it means killing each other. People asked: Will our intellects be with us at that time? The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The intellects of the people of that time will be taken away, and such foolish people will remain who will think they are following a religion, whereas they will not be on any religion. Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) says: By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if that time comes, I will not find any way out for myself or for you except that we come out of it just as we entered it, and do not become involved in anyone's killing or wealth.
Hadith 19493
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورٌ ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ قَاتَلَ لِتَكُونَ كَلِمَةُ اللَّهِ هِيَ الْعُلْيَا ، فَهُوَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fights for the sake of exalting the word of Allah, in reality, he is the one who fights in the way of Allah.
Hadith 19494
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى : لَقَدْ ذَكَّرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ صَلَاةً كُنَّا نُصَلِّيهَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِمَّا نَسِينَاهَا ، وَإِمَّا تَرَكْنَاهَا عَمْدًا ، يُكَبِّرُ كُلَّمَا رَكَعَ ، وَكُلَّمَا رَفَعَ ، وَكُلَّمَا سَجَدَ .
Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reminded us of the prayer of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) which we used to perform with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but which we had forgotten or deliberately abandoned. He (the Prophet) used to say "Allahu Akbar" every time he bowed (for ruku‘), when he raised his head, and when he went into prostration (sajdah).
Hadith 19495
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ ، يُقَالُ لَهُ : أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، كَانَ يُجَالِسُ جَعْفَرَ بْنَ رَبِيعَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بُرْدَةَ الْأَشْعَرِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَعْظَمَ الذُّنُوبِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْ يَلْقَاهُ عَبْدٌ بِهَا بَعْدَ الْكَبَائِرِ الَّتِي نَهَى عَنْهَا ، أَنْ يَمُوتَ الرَّجُلُ وَعَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ لَا يَدَعُ قَضَاءً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The greatest sin in the sight of Allah Almighty, "after those major sins which have been forbidden," is that a person meets Allah in such a state that at the time of death he has so much debt upon him for which he has left nothing to repay.
Hadith 19496
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : الرَّجُلُ يُحِبُّ الْقَوْمَ ، وَلَمَّا يَلْحَقْ بِهِمْ ، فَقَالَ : " الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked: If a person loves a people but cannot reach them, what is the ruling? The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A person will be with those whom he loves.
Hadith 19497
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، وَأَبُو مُوسَى جَالِسَيْنِ ، وَهُمَا يَتَذَاكَرَانِ الْحَدِيثَ ، فَقَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بَيْنَ يَدَيْ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّامٌ يُرْفَعُ فِيهَا الْعِلْمُ ، وَيَنْزِلُ فِيهَا الْجَهْلُ ، وَيَكْثُرُ فِيهَا الْهَرْجُ " ، وَالْهَرْجُ : الْقَتْلُ.
Shaqiq (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I was sitting with Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), discussing hadith. Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Before the Day of Judgment, there will come a time when knowledge will be taken away and ignorance will descend, and 'harj' will become widespread, which means killing."
Hadith 19498
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ رُزَيْقٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، عَنِ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : لَقَدْ ذَكَّرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَنَحْنُ بِالْبَصْرَةِ صَلَاةً كُنَّا نُصَلِّيهَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يُكَبِّرُ إِذَا سَجَدَ ، وَإِذَا قَامَ ، فَلَا أَدْرِي أَنَسِينَاهَا ، أَمْ تَرَكْنَاهَا عَمْدًا .
Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) says that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reminded us of the prayer of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) which we used to perform with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), which we had forgotten or deliberately abandoned. Then the narrator mentioned the entire hadith and said that Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) says: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if that time comes, I will not find any way out for myself or for you except that we come out of it in the same way as we entered it, and that we are not involved in anyone's killing or wealth.
Hadith 19499
19010 حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، وَثَابِتٍ ، وَحُمَيْدٍ ، وَحَبِيبٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ حِطَّانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقَاشِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ السَّاعَةِ " فَذَكَرَ نَحْوًا مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى : وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، لَا أَجِدُ لِي وَلَكُمْ إِنْ أَدْرَكْتُهُنَّ ، إِلَّا أَنْ نَخْرُجَ مِنْهَا كَمَا دَخَلْنَاهَا ، لَمْ نُصِبْ فِيهَا دَمًا وَلَا مَالًا .
19010 Yunus narrated to us, Hammad—meaning Ibn Salamah—narrated to us, from Yunus, and Thabit, and Humayd, and Habib, from Al-Hasan, from Hittan ibn Abdullah Al-Raqashi, from Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, before the Hour..." and he mentioned something similar to the hadith of Abd al-Samad, from Hammad, from Ali ibn Zayd, except that he said: Abu Musa said: "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, I do not find for myself and for you, if I reach them, except that we leave from it as we entered it, not having shed blood nor taken wealth in it."
Hadith 19500
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا مَرَرْتُمْ بِالسِّهَامِ فِي أَسْوَاقِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ، أَوْ فِي مَسَاجِدِهِمْ ، فَأَمْسِكُوا بِالْأَنْصَالِ ، لَا تَجْرَحُوا بِهَا أَحَدًا " .

Hadith 19501
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ لَعِبَ بِالْكِعَابِ ، فَقَدْ عَصَى اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever plays with dice is disobeying Allah and His Messenger.
Hadith 19502
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : رَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَرِيرًا بِيَمِينِهِ ، وَذَهَبًا بِشِمَالِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " أُحِلَّ لِإِنَاثِ أُمَّتِي ، وَحُرِّمَ عَلَى ذُكُورِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once said: Gold and silk are both permissible for the women of my Ummah and forbidden for the men.
Hadith 19503
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُحِلَّ الذَّهَبُ وَالْحَرِيرُ لِلْإِنَاثِ مِنْ أُمَّتِي ، وَحُرِّمَ عَلَى ذُكُورِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once raised silk in his right hand and gold in his left hand and said: "Both of these are permissible for the women of my Ummah and forbidden for the men."
Hadith 19504
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ حِطَّانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقَاشِيِّ ، أَنَّ أَبَا مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيَّ صَلَّى بِأَصْحَابِهِ صَلَاةً ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَطَبَنَا ، فَبَيَّنَ لَنَا سُنَّتَنَا ، وَعَلَّمَنَا صَلَاتَنَا ، فَقَالَ : " إِذَا صَلَّيْتُمْ ، فَأَقِيمُوا صُفُوفَكُمْ ، ثُمَّ لِيَؤُمَّكُمْ أَحَدُكُمْ " . فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ.
On one occasion, Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) led his companions in prayer, then while mentioning a hadith, he said that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to us and, while explaining the Sunnahs, taught us the method of prayer and said: When you pray, straighten your rows and one man from among you should become the imam... Then he mentioned the complete hadith.
Hadith 19505
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى أَرْضِ قَوْمِي ، فَلَمَّا حَضَرَ الْحَجُّ ، حَجَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَحَجَجْتُ ، فَقَدِمْتُ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ نَازِلٌ بِالْأَبْطَحِ ، فَقَالَ لِي : " بِمَ أَهْلَلْتَ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ ؟ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : لَبَّيْكَ بِحَجٍّ كَحَجِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَحْسَنْتَ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " هَلْ سُقْتَ هَدْيًا ؟ " ، فَقُلْتُ : مَا فَعَلْتُ ، فَقَالَ لِي : " اذْهَبْ ، فَطُفْ بِالْبَيْتِ ، وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ ، ثُمَّ احْلِلْ " ، فَانْطَلَقْتُ ، فَفَعَلْتُ مَا أَمَرَنِي ، وَأَتَيْتُ امْرَأَةً مِنْ قَوْمِي ، فَغَسَلَتْ رَأْسِي بِالْخِطْمِيِّ ، وَفَلَّتْهُ ، ثُمَّ أَهْلَلْتُ بِالْحَجِّ يَوْمَ التَّرْوِيَةِ ، فَمَا زِلْتُ أُفْتِي النَّاسَ بِالَّذِي أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى تُوُفِّيَ ، ثُمَّ زَمَنَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، ثُمَّ زَمَنَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، فَبَيْنَا أَنَا قَائِمٌ عِنْدَ الْحَجَرِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، أَوْ الْمَقَامِ ، أُفْتِ النَّاسَ بِالَّذِي أَمَرَنِي بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِذْ أَتَانِي رَجُلٌ ، فَسَارَّنِي ، فَقَالَ : لَا تَعْجَلْ بِفُتْيَاكَ ، فَإِنَّ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَدْ أَحْدَثَ فِي الْمَنَاسِكِ شَيْئًا ، فَقُلْتُ : أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، مَنْ كُنَّا أَفْتَيْنَاهُ فِي الْمَنَاسِكِ شَيْئًا ، فَلْيَتَّئِدْ ، فَإِنَّ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَادِمٌ ، فَبِهِ فَأْتَمُّوا ، قَالَ : فَقَدِمَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، هَلْ أَحْدَثْتَ فِي الْمَنَاسِكِ شَيْئًا ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، أَنْ نَأْخُذَ بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، فَإِنَّهُ يَأْمُرُ بِالتَّمَامِ ، وَأَنْ نَأْخُذَ بِسُنَّةِ نَبِيِّنَا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَحْلِلْ ، حَتَّى نَحَرَ الْهَدْيَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me to the area of my people. When the season of Hajj approached, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out for Hajj, and I also attained the honor of performing Hajj. When I presented myself before him, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was encamped at Abtah. He asked me, "O Abdullah bin Qais! With what intention did you put on Ihram?" I replied, "Saying 'Labbayk for Hajj as the Hajj of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).'" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Very good. Tell me, did you bring a sacrificial animal with you?" I said, "No." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Go and perform Tawaf of the House of Allah, perform Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, and come out of Ihram." So I went and did as the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded. Then I went to a woman from my people; she washed my head with 'khatmi' and looked for lice in my hair. Then, on the eighth of Dhul-Hijjah, I put on Ihram for Hajj. I continued to give people the same fatwa until the passing of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as he had commanded me. The same situation remained during the time of Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). When the time of Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came, one day I was standing near the Black Stone and telling people the same ruling that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had commanded me, when suddenly a man came and whispered to me, "Do not be hasty in giving this fatwa, because the Commander of the Faithful has issued some new rulings regarding the rites of Hajj." I said to the people, "O people! Whoever has received a fatwa from us regarding the rites of Hajj should wait, because the Commander of the Faithful is coming; follow him." Then when Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came, I asked him, "O Commander of the Faithful! Have you issued any new rulings regarding the rites of Hajj?" He said, "Yes! If we take the Book of Allah, it commands us to complete (the rites), and if we take the Sunnah of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he did not come out of Ihram until he had offered the sacrifice."
Hadith 19506
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ حَرْمَلَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : أَمَانَانِ كَانَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، رُفِعَ أَحَدُهُمَا ، وَبَقِيَ الْآخَرُ : وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَأَنْتَ فِيهِمْ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ مُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَهُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ سورة الأنفال آية 33 .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), there were two kinds of protection, one of which has been lifted and the other remains: (1) Allah Almighty would not punish them while you are present among them; (2) Allah will not punish them as long as they continue to seek forgiveness.
Hadith 19507
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي الْعُمَرِيَّ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُحِلَّ لِإِنَاثِ أُمَّتِي الْحَرِيرُ وَالذَّهَبُ ، وَحُرِّمَ عَلَى ذُكُورِهَا " .

Hadith 19508
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَدِمَ رَجُلَانِ مَعِي مِنْ قَوْمِي ، قَالَ : فَأَتَيْنَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَخَطَبَا ، وَتَكَلَّمَا ، فَجَعَلَا يُعَرِّضَانِ بِالْعَمَلِ ، فَتَغَيَّرَ وَجْهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَوْ : رُئِيَ فِي وَجْهِهِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِنَّ أَخْوَنَكُمْ عِنْدِي مَنْ يَطْلُبُهُ ، فَعَلَيْكُمَا بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " ، قَالَ فَمَا اسْتَعَانَ بِهِمَا عَلَى شَيْءٍ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that two men from my tribe came with me. We presented ourselves before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). During the conversation, both of them requested a position. At this, the blessed face of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) changed color, and he said: "The greatest traitor in my sight is the one who seeks a position. Therefore, both of you adhere to piety." And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not assign them any responsibility.
Hadith 19509
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَسِبْتُهُ قَالَ : فِي حَائِطٍ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ ، فَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اذْهَبْ ، فَأْذَنْ لَهُ ، وَبَشِّرْهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ " ، فَذَهَبْتُ ، فَإِذَا هُوَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : ادْخُلْ ، وَأَبْشِرْ بِالْجَنَّةِ ، فَمَا زَالَ يَحْمَدُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، حَتَّى جَلَسَ ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ آخَرُ ، فَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " ائْذَنْ لَهُ وَبَشِّرْهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ " ، فَانْطَلَقْتُ ، فَإِذَا هُوَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : ادْخُلْ ، وَأَبْشِرْ بِالْجَنَّةِ ، فَمَا زَالَ يَحْمَدُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَتَّى جَلَسَ ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ آخَرُ ، فَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " اذْهَبْ ، فَأْذَنْ لَهُ ، وَبَشِّرْهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ عَلَى بَلْوَى شَدِيدَةٍ " ، قَالَ : فَانْطَلَقْتُ ، فَإِذَا هُوَ عُثْمَانُ ، فَقُلْتُ : ادْخُلْ ، وَأَبْشِرْ بِالْجَنَّةِ عَلَى بَلْوَى شَدِيدَةٍ ، قَالَ : فَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ : اللَّهُمَّ صَبْرًا ، حَتَّى جَلَسَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in a garden. A man came and greeted with salam. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Go, give him permission to enter and give him the glad tidings of Paradise." I went and found that it was Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him). I said to him, "Please come inside and accept the glad tidings of Paradise." He kept praising Allah and sat down in a place. Then another man came and he also greeted with salam. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Give him permission and glad tidings as well." I went and found that it was Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). I said to him, "Please come inside and accept the glad tidings of Paradise." He kept praising Allah and sat down in a place. Then a third man came and he also greeted with salam. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Go and give him permission to enter and give him the glad tidings of Paradise along with a trial." I went and found that it was Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). I said to him, "Please come inside and accept the glad tidings of Paradise along with a severe trial." He came and sat down saying, "O Allah! Grant me steadfastness."
Hadith 19510
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَلَّمَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ قَيْسٍ أَبُو مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيُّ عَلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ ، فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لَهُ ، فَرَجَعَ ، فَأَرْسَلَ عُمَرُ فِي إِثْرِهِ : لِمَ رَجَعْتَ ؟ قَالَ : إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِذَا سَلَّمَ أَحَدُكُمْ ثَلَاثًا ، فَلَمْ يُجَبْ ، فَلْيَرْجِعْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) greeted Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) three times, but did not receive permission, so he returned. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sent a messenger after him asking why he had left. He replied that he had heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: When any one of you greets three times and does not receive a reply, he should return.
Hadith 19511
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ حِطَّانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقَاشِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا قَالَ الْإِمَامُ : سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ، فَقُولُوا : رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ ، يَسْمَعْ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَكُمْ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى قَضَى عَلَى لِسَانِ نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the Imam says "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah," you should say "Rabbana lakal hamd." Allah will listen to you, because Allah has decreed through the tongue of His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that whoever praises Allah, Allah listens to him.
Hadith 19512
حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الْخَازِنَ الْأَمِينَ الَّذِي يُعْطِي مَا أُمِرَ بِهِ كَامِلًا مُوَفَّرًا طَيِّبَةً بِهِ نَفْسُهُ ، حَتَّى يَدْفَعَهُ إِلَى الَّذِي أُمِرَ لَهُ بِهِ أَحَدُ الْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The trustworthy treasurer is the one who, when he is instructed regarding something, fulfills it completely, fully, and with a happy heart, so that the thing reaches the one whom the giver of charity has ordered it to be given to.
Hadith 19513
حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْفَزَارِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ الْحَنَفِيُّ ، عَنْ غُنَيْمِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنِ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كُلُّ عَيْنٍ زَانِيَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every eye commits adultery.
Hadith 19514
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بُرْقَانَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : اخْتَصَمَ رَجُلَانِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَرْضٍ ، أَحَدُهُمَا مِنْ أَهْلِ حَضْرَمَوْتَ ، قَالَ : فَجَعَلَ يَمِينَ أَحَدِهِمَا ، قَالَ : فَضَجَّ الْآخَرُ ، وَقَالَ : إِنَّهُ إِذًا يَذْهَبُ بِأَرْضِي ، فَقَالَ : " إِنْ هُوَ اقْتَطَعَهَا بِيَمِينِهِ ظُلْمًا ، كَانَ مِمَّنْ لَا يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِ ، وَلَهُ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ " ، قَالَ : وَوَرِعَ الْآخَرُ ، فَرَدَّهَا.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that two men brought a case regarding a piece of land before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), one of whom was from Hadramaut. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told the other to take an oath. Upon hearing this, the other party cried out and said, "In this way, he will take my land!" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If he takes possession of it unjustly by swearing an oath, then he will be among those whom Allah will neither look at nor purify on the Day of Resurrection, and for whom there will be a painful punishment." Then the Prophet encouraged the other person to adopt piety, so he returned the land.
Hadith 19515
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ ابْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْحَرِيرُ وَالذَّهَبُ حَرَامٌ عَلَى ذُكُورِ أُمَّتِي ، وَحِلٌّ لِإِنَاثِهِمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once said: "Gold and silk are both permissible for the women of my Ummah and forbidden for the men."
Hadith 19516
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ . وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَونُسَ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تُسْتَأْمَرُ الْيَتِيمَةُ فِي نَفْسِهَا ، فَإِنْ سَكَتَتْ ، فَقَدْ أَذِنَتْ ، وَإِنْ أَبَتْ ، لَمْ تُكْرَهْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The permission of a mature girl will be sought for her marriage; if she remains silent, it is as if she has given permission, and if she refuses, she should not be forced into that relationship.
Hadith 19517
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَطْعِمُوا الْجَائِعَ ، وَفُكُّوا الْعَانِيَ ، وَعُودُوا الْمَرِيضَ " ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ : " الْمَرْضَى ".
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Feed the hungry, free the captives, and visit the sick.
Hadith 19518
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا نِكَاحَ إِلَّا بِوَلِيٍّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no marriage without a guardian."
Hadith 19519
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ زَهْدَمٍ الْجَرْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَأْكُلُ دَجَاجًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) eating chicken.
Hadith 19520
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ يَعْنِي الْأَحْوَلَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ ، فَأَشْرَفْنَا عَلَى وَادٍ ، فَذَكَرَ مِنْ هَوْلِهِ ، فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يُكَبِّرُونَ ، وَيُهَلِّلُونَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، ارْبَعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ " ، وَرَفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَهُمْ ، فَقَالَ : " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، إِنَّكُمْ لَا تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبًا ، إِنَّهُ مَعَكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were on a journey with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). We ascended a valley, and after describing its terrors, he said that people began to say takbeer and tahlil. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O people! Be gentle with yourselves, for the people had raised their voices. O people! You are not calling upon a deaf or absent Allah; He is with you at every moment.
Hadith 19521
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ لَعِبَ بِالنَّرْدِ ، فَقَدْ عَصَى اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever plays with Nardashir (backgammon) disobeys Allah and His Messenger.
Hadith 19522
حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى عَقِيلٍ فِيمَا أَعْلَمُ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ لَعِبَ بِالنَّرْدِ ، فَقَدْ عَصَى اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever plays with Nardashir (backgammon) disobeys Allah and His Messenger.
Hadith 19523
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ مُرَّة الْهَمْدَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَمُلَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ كَثِيرٌ ، وَلَمْ يَكْمُلْ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ إِلَّا آسِيَةُ امْرَأَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ ، وَمَرْيَمُ بِنْتُ عِمْرَانَ ، وَإِنَّ فَضْلَ عَائِشَةَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ ، كَفَضْلِ الثَّرِيدِ عَلَى سَائِرِ الطَّعَامِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Many men have attained perfection, but among women, only Asiya (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of Pharaoh, and Maryam (peace be upon her) have attained perfection. And the superiority of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) over all women is like the superiority of tharid over all other foods."
Hadith 19524
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنِ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، أَنَّ أَسْمَاءَ لَمَّا قَدِمَتْ لَقِيَهَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فِي بَعْضِ طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَقَالَ : آلْحَبَشِيَّةُ هِيَ ؟ قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ ، فَقَالَ : نِعْمَ الْقَوْمُ أَنْتُمْ ، لَوْلَا أَنَّكُمْ سَبَقْتُمْ بِالْهِجْرَةِ ، فَقَالَتْ هِيَ لِعُمَرَ : كُنْتُمْ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَحْمِلُ رَاجِلَكُمْ ، وَيُعَلِّمُ جَاهِلَكُمْ ، وَفَرَرْنَا بِدِينِنَا ، أَمَا إِنِّي لَا أَرْجِعُ حَتَّى أَذْكُرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَرَجَعَتْ إِلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَتْ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بَلْ لَكُمْ الْهِجْرَةُ مَرَّتَيْنِ : هِجْرَتُكُمْ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ، وَهِجْرَتُكُمْ إِلَى الْحَبَشَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Hazrat Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) returned from Abyssinia, she encountered Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) on one of the roads of Madinah Munawwarah. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked, "Are you one of those who went to Abyssinia?" She replied, "Yes!" Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "You people were the best nation, if only you had not missed the migration to Madinah." She replied, "You people were with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); he would provide mounts for your walkers, teach knowledge to your ignorant, and we had left at that time to save our religion. I will not return home without mentioning this matter to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." Thus, she presented herself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and related the entire matter. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You have two migrations: one towards Madinah Munawwarah and the other towards Abyssinia."
