(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ التِّرْمِذِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَشْجَعِيُّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ السَّلْمَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا نُرَاهَا الْفَجْرَ ، فَقَالَ : رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هِيَ صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ " ، يَعْنِي : صَلَاةَ الْوُسْطَى .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that we used to consider the Fajr prayer as the middle prayer, but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "By this is meant the Asr prayer."
