حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا يَرِيهِ ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is much better for a man's belly to be filled with pus until he is satisfied than for it to be filled with poetry.
