حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ سَلْمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ النَّخَعِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ تَسَمَّى بِاسْمِي ، فَلَا يَتَكَنَّى بِكُنْيَتِي ، وَمَنْ اكْتَنَى بِكُنْيَتِي ، فَلَا يَتَسَمَّى بِاسْمِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever names himself after my name should not adopt my kunya, and whoever adopts my kunya should not take my name.
