حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " أَوْصَانِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِثَلَاثٍ ، لَسْتُ بِتَارِكِهِنَّ فِي حَضَرٍ وَلَا سَفَرٍ ، نَوْمٍ عَلَى وِتْرٍ ، وَصِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ ، وَرَكْعَتَيْ الضُّحَى " . قَالَ : ثُمَّ أَوْهَمَ الْحَسَنُ بعدُ فَجَعَلَ مَكَانَ " الضُّحَى " : " غُسْلَ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) advised three things which I never leave whether at home or on a journey: (1) to perform Witr prayer before sleeping, (2) to fast three days in every month, (3) to offer two units of Duha (forenoon) prayer. Later, Hasan became doubtful and began to mention instead... the Friday bath (ghusl jumu'ah).
