حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنِ الْأَغَرِّ ، وأبي سَلَمة بن عبد الرحمن ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : يَنْزِلُ رَبُّنَا تَبَارَكَ اسْمُهُ كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ ، حِينَ يَبْقَى ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الْآَخِرُ ، إِلَى سَمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا ، فَيَقُولُ : " مَنْ يَدْعُونِي فَأَسْتَجِيبَ لَهُ ؟ مَنْ يَسْأَلُنِي فَأُعْطِيَهُ ؟ مَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرُنِي فَأَغْفِرَ لَه ؟ " حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ " . فَلِذَلِكَ كَانُوا يُفَضِّلُونَ صَلَاةَ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ عَلَى صَلَاةِ أَوَّلِهِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every day, when one third of the night remains, Allah Almighty descends to the lowest heaven and announces: Who is there who will supplicate to Me so that I may accept it? Who is there who will ask of Me so that I may grant him? Who is there who will seek forgiveness from Me so that I may forgive him? This announcement continues until the break of dawn. For this reason, those people preferred to pray in the last part of the night rather than the first part.
