(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : خَيَّرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا وَامْرَأَةً وَابْنًا لَهُمَا ، فَخَيَّرَ الْغُلَامَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا غُلَامُ ، هَذَا أَبُوكَ ، وَهَذِهِ أُمُّكَ ، اخْتَرْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave a man, a woman, and their son the choice, and while giving the boy the choice, he said: O boy, this is your father and this is your mother; whichever of them you wish to go with, you may choose.
