(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " اسْتَقْرِئُوا الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ : مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، وَسَالِمٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ ، وَمُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ ، وَأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Learn the Qur'an from four persons: Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, then Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal, may Allah be pleased with him, then Salim, the freed slave of Sayyiduna Abu Hudhaifah, may Allah be pleased with him, and Ubayy bin Ka'b, may Allah be pleased with him."
(حديث مرفوع) (حديث موقوف) قَالَ : وَقَالَ : قَالَ : وَقَالَ : " لَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَاحِشًا وَلَا مُتَفَحِّشًا " . (حديث مرفوع) (حديث موقوف) قَالَ : قَالَ : وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ مِنْ أَحَبِّكُمْ إِلَيَّ أَحْسَنَكُمْ خُلُقًا " .
He also said that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was neither indecent by nature nor did he feign indecency. And he used to say that the most beloved of you to me are those whose character is the best.
