وَمِنْ أَخْبَارِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
And from the reports of Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him)
Musnad Ahmad 550 — And from the reports of Uthman ibn Affan
(حديث مقطوع) حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، قَالَ : " قُتِلَ عُثْمَانُ سَنَةَ خَمْسٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ ، فَكَانَتْ الْفِتْنَةُ خَمْسَ سِنِينَ ، مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ لِلْحَسَنِ " .
Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqil says that in 35 AH, Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, and five years of trial passed, out of which Sayyiduna Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) was also caliph for four months.
