(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَا لِي وَلِلدُّنْيَا ، إِنَّمَا مَثَلِي وَمَثَلُ الدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رَاكِبٍ ، قَالَ فِي ظِلِّ شَجَرَةٍ فِي يَوْمٍ صَائِفٍ ، ثُمَّ رَاحَ وَتَرَكَهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What have I to do with the world? My example and the example of the world is like that of a rider who stopped under a tree for a short while to take shade on a hot day, then left it and moved on."
