(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنَ الْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ ، وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ ، وَأَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ ، وَفِتْنَةِ الصَّدْرِ " ، قَالَ وَكِيعٌ : فِتْنَةُ الصَّدْرِ : أَنْ يَمُوتَ الرَّجُلُ ، وَذَكَرَ وَكِيعٌ : الْفِتْنَةَ لَمْ يَتُبْ مِنْهَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to seek Allah’s refuge from five things: from miserliness, from cowardice, from the trial of the heart, from the punishment of the grave, and from an evil old age.
