Musnad Ahmad 3276 — Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once he spent the night at the house of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up during the night, went outside, raised his gaze towards the sky, and then recited this verse from Surah Al-Imran: « ﴿إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ . . . . . سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ﴾ [آل عمران : 190-191]» "Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, . . . . . So glory be to You, save us from the punishment of the Fire." Then he entered the house, used the miswak, performed ablution, and stood to pray. After a short while, he lay down for a while, then again went outside, looked towards the sky, and repeated the aforementioned actions two more times.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) decreed that "one fifth of rikaz (buried treasure) is obligatory to be deposited in the Bayt al-Mal (public treasury)."
