مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَا

Musnad Ahmad 3005 — Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الَّرحْمَنِ مَوْلَى أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ اسْمُ جُوَيْرِيَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ بَرَّةَ فَحَوَّلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اسْمَهَا فَسَمَّاهَا جُوَيْرِيَةَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the name of Sayyidah Juwayriyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) was "Barrah", but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) changed her name to Juwayriyyah.
