مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَا

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَمْزَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، يَقُولُ : كُنْتُ غُلَامًا أَسْعَى مَعَ الصِّبْيَانِ ، قَالَ : فَالْتَفَتُّ ، فَإِذَا نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَلْفِي مُقْبِلًا ، فَقُلْتُ : مَا جَاءَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا إِلَيَّ ، قَالَ : فَسَعَيْتُ حَتَّى أَخْتَبِئَ وَرَاءَ بَابِ دَارٍ ، قَالَ : فَلَمْ أَشْعُرْ حَتَّى تَنَاوَلَنِي ، قَالَ : فَأَخَذَ بِقَفَايَ ، فَحَطَأَنِي حَطْأَةً ، قَالَ : " اذْهَبْ فَادْعُ لِي مُعَاوِيَةَ " , وَكَانَ كَاتِبَهُ ، قَالَ : فَسَعَيْتُ ، فَقُلْتُ : أَجِبْ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَإِنَّهُ عَلَى حَاجَةٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me while I was playing with other children. I went and hid behind a door. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called me and affectionately wrestled me to the ground. Then he sent me to Sayyiduna Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) to call him. He was the scribe of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I ran to him and said, "Go to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he has some work with you."
