Musnad Ahmad 25982 — Supplement to the Musnad of ‘A’ishah
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى , عَنْ عَمْرَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : " لَوْ رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا أَحْدَثَ النِّسَاءُ , لَمَنَعَهُنَّ الْمَسْجِدَ , كَمَا مُنِعَتْ نِسَاءُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had seen the condition of the women of today, he would surely have forbidden them from coming to the mosques, just as the women of Bani Israel were forbidden.
