مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَا

(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لَهَا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : " إِنَّمَا سُمِّيتِ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لِتَسْعَدِي ، وَإِنَّهُ لَاسْمُكِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُولَدِي " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said to Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) that your name was given as Umm al-Mu'mineen so that your good fortune may be established, and this name of yours had been decided before your birth.
