حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ حَدَّثَتْهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْقُدَ ، تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ ، ثُمَّ يَرْقُدُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that when the Prophet (peace be upon him) wished to sleep in a state requiring ghusl, he would perform ablution as for prayer.
