Musnad Ahmad 24882 — Supplement to the Musnad of ‘A’ishah
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَة ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا عَمْرٍو مَوْلَى عَائِشَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَكُونُ جُنُبًا ، فَيُرِيدُ الرُّقَادَ ، فَيَتَوَضَّأُ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ ، ثُمَّ يَرْقُدُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that when the Prophet (peace be upon him) wished to sleep in a state requiring ghusl, he would perform ablution as for prayer.
