Musnad Ahmad 24746 — Supplement to the Musnad of ‘A’ishah
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَشْعَثُ بْنُ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ الْمُحَارِبِيّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الِالْتِفَاتِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، فَقَالَ : " اخْتِلَاسٌ يَخْتَلِسُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْعَبْدِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that I asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) about looking to the right and left during prayer. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: This is a snatching attack which Satan snatches from a person's prayer.
