Musnad Ahmad 24501 — Supplement to the Musnad of ‘A’ishah
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ لَهَا : " يَا عَائِشَةُ ، اسْتَتِرِي مِنَ النَّارِ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ ، فَإِنَّهَا تَسُدُّ مِنَ الْجَائِعِ مَسَدَّهَا مِنَ الشَّبْعَانِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to her: O Aisha! Prepare a barrier against the fire of Hell, even if it is only a piece of a date, for even a date supports a hungry person more than it does a satiated one.
