Musnad Ahmad 24463 — Supplement to the Musnad of ‘A’ishah
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حِطَّانَ السَّدُوسِيِّ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَعَلَى النِّسَاءِ جِهَادٌ ؟ قَالَ : " الْحَجُّ وَالْعُمْرَةُ هُوَ جِهَادُ النِّسَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Is jihad obligatory upon women?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "The jihad of women is Hajj and Umrah."
