Musnad Ahmad 22200 — Hadith of Abu Umamah al-Bahili
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , عَنْ ثَوْرٍ , عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ , عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ , قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا رُفِعَتْ الْمَائِدَةُ , قَالَ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ , غَيْرَ مَكْفِيٍّ , وَلَا مُوَدَّعٍ , وَلَا مُسْتَغْنًى عَنْهُ رَبَّنَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished eating or the dining cloth was removed, he would recite this supplication: "All praise is due to Allah, abundant, pure, and blessed praise; not insufficient, nor left, nor independent of Him, our Lord."
