مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَا

Musnad Ahmad 2111 — Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " يُعْتِقُ مَنْ جَاءَهُ مِنَ الْعَبِيدِ قَبْلَ مَوَالِيهِمْ إِذَا أَسْلَمُوا , وَقَدْ أَعْتَقَ يَوْمَ الطَّائِفِ رَجُلَيْنِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to set free all those slaves of the polytheists who came to him after embracing Islam. Accordingly, on the occasion of the Battle of Ta’if, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also set two men free.
