حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ جَابِرًا عَنْ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " كَانَ يُخَفِّفُ وَلَا يُصَلِّي صَلَاةَ هَؤُلَاءِ " ، قَالَ : وَنَبَّأَنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْفَجْرِ بِ " ق ، وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ " ، وَنَحْوِهَا " .
Samak says that I asked Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead a light prayer, not like those people (who prolong it), and he also mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah Qaf and similar surahs in the Fajr prayer.
