Musnad Ahmad 19747 — Hadith of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ ، وَرَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ ، عَن غُنَيْمِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَن أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ رَوْحٌ : قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ غُنَيْمًا ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مُوسَى يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ اسْتَعْطَرَتْ ، ثُمَّ مَرَّتْ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ ، لِيَجِدُوا رِيحَهَا ، فَهِيَ زَانِيَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a woman applies perfume and passes by some people so that they may smell her fragrance, then she is such and such (i.e., a wrongdoer).
