Musnad Ahmad 19607 — Hadith of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ حَرْمَلَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، عَن أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : أَمَانَانِ كَانَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، رُفِعَ أَحَدُهُمَا ، وَبَقِيَ الْآخَرُ : وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَأَنْتَ فِيهِمْ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ مُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَهُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ سورة الأنفال آية 33 .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), there were two kinds of protection, one of which has been lifted and the other remains: (1) Allah Almighty would not punish them while you are present among them; (2) Allah will not punish them as long as they continue to seek forgiveness.
